Old hotel in a great location.

Great location. There was 16 year old kids staying next to us who seemed to be dealing drugs but other than that a nice stay.

Everything seemed a little run down, our tv only got 2 channels and turned itself off every three minutes, and the pool area seemed neglected. Otherwise, seemed clean and safe, great location.

Close to the beach. Heated pool. Small room. No free breakfast. Friendly staff. Would stay there again. Walgreens is two blocks away and open 24 hours. Comfortable.

You can walk everywhere. But no space in the room

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: The pool and hot tub is great and the location is the best!!!!
Cons: Dressers need to be added!!! Big time. All of your clothes go on the floor mostly. The room appears messy Medicine cabinet needs to be added.
Location: You can walk everywhere. Lincoln Road is right there. Great restaurants and shopping. Very close!!!
if they would have invested $200.00 into the room I was staying in it would have been very nice. It needs a medicine cabinet in the bathroom, a window or exhaust fan is greatly needed, there was no place to put my clothes, a dresser is needed, it could go under the tv set problem solved. The closet was so small and had no hangers, iIt was very difficult to keep my room in order for my 7 day stay. Our room was 415. Thanks, Joe and Barbara

Dingy, dirty and noisy.

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: Great location, reasonable price (likely because of above)
Cons: Sound insulated window, proper cleaning, updating bathrooms, all plumbing and noise insulation inside the building
The hotel is a sad, outdated, dingy and dirty hotel located next to an outdoor nightclub. If your room is on the nightclub side, forget about resting until the music stops.

Great Location, So So Condition

Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: location, price, and Gustavo in the kitchen (he's a gem, and works his butt off putting out good food in a REALLY small kitchen!)
Cons: Every part of the facility needs updating: room decor, bath, tub and tile fixtures, rugs.
Location: Lincoln Road shopping and restaurants, Regal Cinema on Alton, Bass museum, boardwalk, THE BEACH, Deco Drive, Espinola Way, cocktails @ the Ritz
So, to start, this is the last family owned hotel ON the beach in SoBe. Great location, on top of everything, and I wanted to like it. It was a comparative bargain to the surrounding hotels, many now fully renovated, and charging $6,7,800 / night and up. Good news, you're ON the beach, access to the boardwalk, pool is nice, and most of the staff try to accommodate. Rooms are kept clean, although showing serious signs of age and need for updates (rugs, A/C system, bathroom tiles and tubs (60's era..) The down side: facility is worn and tired, and can impose on your overall vacation experience. Again, for what it is, it is a COMPARATIVE bargain, but don't go expecting much more than location.

Big mistake

I'm not sure where to begin. When I stay in Miami, I usually stay in some of the best hotels (The James, Delano, etc). However, I wanted to extend my stay and wanted to try to save some pennies in return for escaping the harsh nyc winter. I decided on this hotel because it's right on Collins (awesome location) and it was on the less expensive side, considering it's Miami. I knew it was bad news when I walked into the lobby. Dated, small, nothing grand for even special about it. The room was the size of a shoe box and I know small rooms, I'm from NYC!! This was absurd. The bathroom. Oh god the bathroom. Small, dated, pink and blue tile, and mold in the shower. I haven't worn flip flops in the shower since college! The AC barely worked and the walls were so paper thin I could hear every word our neighbors spoke, including each beer they popped open. Don't count on getting any sleep either- the surrounding hotels have a very active outdoor nightlife and you will hear and feel every beat and thump of the music through the paper thin walls and windows. Pool was ok. Small, nothing great. Service was a joke. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for anything. On top of all of this, you have to pay $5 just to get a beach chair on the beach. The food was about as good as leftovers from Applebee's. Drinks were good- big and strong. Maybe that's how I got through the 2 days I was there. Just avoid it and splurge on a nicer hotel. period.
