Miami south beach

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Hotel was ok for a 4 day stay in miami just a basic room. One thing I will say are walls are paper thin, the people staying next to me came home from a night out and were talking to each other, I felt like I was sitting right next to them having the conversation

Terrible old bed and noisy

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Close to beach and friendly staff. Old uncomfortable bed. One light worked out of four in the room. Very noisy inside hotel itself (not from outside)

Good location/but messy

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Great location but pool was dirty and trash everywhere. Room was below average. I go to south beach every 6 weeks and expecting more based on location of this hotel. They should charge half. Due to how messy it was overall.

Mother/Daughter trip

Pros: Pool area, shower, nice clean room, location. FeFe at the front desk was a doll. Thank you FeFe for helping us when we were freaking out!!
Cons: FRONT PORCH BEING UTILIZED. This place could be a gold mine if upgraded a bit.
Location: Bars, places to eat and shop. Short walk to Ocean Drive and beach. Fabulous location.
We've stayed here before and liked it so we thought we would go again. The lobby is nice, a little old, but nice. We were returnees so we got an upgrade to oceanfront . That was awesome. The view of the pool was wonderful. The pool area to me is their strong point. Gorgeous landscape and pool very nice. They could use new pool chairs and furniture, but nice none the less. The room was clean and very comfortable. Shower was awesome and after a day of sweating and swimming, a nice shower is a must. Location is the best. You can walk everywhere. The restaurant across the street, Maxine's is nice. Its open 24 hours a day so if you crave food or drink, just go out the front door and you can have it. The part I do not understand is, this place has a prime front porch that they do not use. It would be so awesome to sit at night with a drink and watch the craziness go by. Most places have this perk. Im hoping next time we return they will have some awesome furniture on the porch so we can sit and relax. We did have one incident while there. My daughters phone, money and sunglasses were stolen from her bag as we swam in the pool. We did not see anyone and neither did other guests laying around near us. Im not blaming the hotel as they were wonderful when we told them, but they have had problems before as did others around them. So just leave that phone and money in your room safe and then no worries. The restaurant The Veranda is great too. Nice guy!!

nice hotel, great location

Pros: location, friendly staff
this hotel may not be the most exciting hotel in south beach, but it is adequate, and the location and price are perfect.

Building and rooms need some serious updating

Posted Jun 9, 2014
While rustic can be charming this hotel was anything but. The first room I was given was a box with a bed & an itty bitty TV and so dirty feeling I began to itch. After complaining this room was nothing like they advertised we were moved into a normal sized room that was cleaner. Bathrooms are so outdated and even have commercial type toilets - dirt in the corners. After being out all day, we returned to our room at 3am to discover our AC wasn't working and stuck at 75 degrees. We were moved to a "suite" which was just two rooms with the adjoining interior door open. Very small bed - like a pull out couch. That room was stuck in heat mode so no AC at all and blowing heat. We packed up again and moved back to our other other room and given a fan. We were told the AC units in most rooms were on one system and the temp couldn't be adjusted and sometimes depending on the floor you're on, there was no cold air left. I will say the staff was as accommodating as could be - they made their best efforts when they could. The owner of the hotel really needs to step things up over there. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for a different hotel. It will be worth it - I promise you.
