Room view rockedPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: The complementary wifi and breakfast, room was clean, pillows were comfortable and the view.
Cons: Parking and check out time, 11 am is too early.
We had a slow start because we didn't get clear indication on the parking plus a rude valet guy. There was no one to help with the bags and we carried several, from there experience went in the right direction, smooth check in, nice, really nice view at the river, room rate included breakfast, room was clean, comfortable.

Good for short stayPosted Aug 19, 2014
Great downtown location and competent staff, old and small rooms but clean, bad acoustic isolation between rooms, bathroom had an active small leak on the sealing. Below mediocre free breakfast. Not a place to spend your vacation, but just 1 or 2 nights is ok.

What it COULD BE!Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: location, staff
Location: location good, public transportation is good , easier then driving.
Excellent location, but very hard to find With little attention, keeping up the 1930 feel, it could be a very nice hotel At the moment it is O.K , mainly because of the staff. Breakfast- I would not advertise, white toast/apple cereal/ not so good coffee- however with little care it would pass. ( Miami- Cuban coffee !!!!) Keep milk chilled , not in a jug on table.Throw in some bagels, maybe eggs? There is no or very little A/C . Beautiful bar-serves nothing- just basic drinks/coffee /tea would make a nice addition and good income for hotel. There is no food. Ordering pizza for delivery- I am sure you guys can come up with something in the hotel.

A hotel whose best days are behind it.Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Location is is downtown Miami and centrally located.
Cons: Most everything that matters.
Location: Rental car companies are within a block walk and the public tram/train is even closer.
The location, and common areas are GREAT! Unfortunately, this hotel was in its heyday in the late 70s and early 80s. It is unclear if the current management are in the process of restoring it to its former glory or just trying to hold water. The common areas are glamorous but the rooms haven'y been touched. The furniture seems to have come from a fancy clearing house but the beds seemed to have come from a community college dorm supply store. The complimentary breakfast hours were from 7-8:30 - not very convenient. The internet is also limited to the lobby.

Hidden Treasure in MiamiPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the kind and welcoming ways of our hosts
Cons: Directions to the hotel are needed. Not many people know where it is. They could also improve their valet parking service. They charge too much for it
Location: They are located right in downtown and it is near all the stores and Bayside! There is always something to do around the hotel. It is also very safe.
WHEN you find the hotel--notice the emphasis on "when". It is not very easy to find it-- you will see two lions on each side of the entrance. This should give you an idea of the incredible pieces of art you will find inside the lobby. Every corner of the lobby is worth a picture. During our first stay we were given a room in the lower floors, but we got an upgrade on our second visit and the view we got from the 11th floor was breathtaking.

Great Views, Convenient Location, Fair ValuePosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Good views of Downtown Miami & Brickell. Very convenient walking distance to metro mover and bus stops.
Cons: Lobby furniture, outdoor swimming pool, bathroom toilet plumbing
Location: A quick walk away from Brickell and Bayside waterfront
Had great views of Downtown Miami from 11th floor room. No phone or internet in room. Couldn't figure out channel lineup, which was limited to begin with, but flat screen TV was good. Excellent location for public transportation, but terrible location for driving by car and also you must use valet. Very confusing to get to this hotel by car as you have one way ramps and other roads looping around. I'am glad I didn't have to drive during my stay here. Overall, got a great value for the rate I paid much lower than other nearby hotels. Ice dispenser machine and other fans outside of my room were really annoying and loud, tough to sleep through the night. Staff is always there and helpful. Restaurant and bar were closed for renovation.
