Good hotel close to beach.

I like the hotel was nice, clean, and smelled good. Since there was two of us good size. The only bad thing was room did not get cold regardless of temp. stayed kinda warm. If that does not bother you great place to stay.

April 2014

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the beach and main attractions is a plus.
Cons: Renovate the main lobby with adult art in mind. Not the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!!!
Location: Mangos, A Fish Called Avalon are two of my favorites places.
Overall, I liked the SBH. Is what I expected, not a luxury hotel but not a horrible one either. Is a small hotel with access to the main avenues of South Beach. Walking distance to great restaurants and one block away from the beach, I would stay again for a short stay.

Great location, Rooms are nice, needs coffee maker

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: Price and location.
Cons: Put a coffee maker in the rooms or at least one upon request. Wifi was not very powerful.
Location: Beach, pool and shopping all within walking distance. Never needed a cab unless going to the airport. Bike rentals were nearby.
For the price, it was perfect. Loved the rooftop pool next door. The breakfast place was very nice. Michelle at the desk was very friendly and informative of the area. Short walk to the beach and shopping. The beach chair cushions need to be updated / cleaned.

Good location, terrible service...

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The service NEEDS to be improved
The hotel is very well located and the room was very comfortable and clean. HOWEVER, the service is TERRIBLE. My mother tried to explain that she was claustrophobic and could not access the pool (which is in a hotel next door, on the top floor, in a separate building). Both the manager and the girl at reception were disrespectful and rude, almost making fun of her problem. And that was the service quality overall, the girls at reception are rude and do not even say hi, let alone solve any problem or request you may have WHATSOEVER. Breakfast is served in a restaurant around the corner, the only instruction the receptionist gave was "make a right when you see the light", but she never bothered explaining that it was a restaurant or just simply giving us the name so we would find it easily. THEY JUST DON'T CARE. Thanks to a very nice gentleman that worked in the hotel next door, we were guided to the pool and to the restaurant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE HOTEL until the service changes. If you want to have a nice pleasant time, you would at least expect to be treated politely.

Brand new, modern renovations.

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The pool and location.
Cons: Room service
Location: short walk to restaurants, beach and the W hotel.
The hotel was still being remodeled as we entered the doors, although it was quiet. The location was wonderful, a 2 block walk to the beach. The rooms were modern but small and room service only came once in 6 days. We had to ask for toilet paper, towels, and new linens at the front desk. The hotel front desk attendents were great, very friendly. The onsite restaurant is actually down the block and around the corner and the complimentary breakfast left much to be desired. You have use of a pool in the hotel next door that is absolutely beautiful. All in all I don't think we got our money's worth. Will stay somewhere else next time.

Worst stay

Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything. Drop the rates.
Location: good location, terrible hotel.
The hotel is a rip off. 350USD per night, not even a restaurant or pool or courtyard, guests have to use the neighboring hotel pool area, and have breakfast with coupons around the corner. After one night checked out, but full 4 nights stay taken off my credit card, ended paying over 1000USD for one night stay in a terrible hotel, in the small print after you make a booking.
