I went and stayed at the SLS sobe for a moms getaway with 2 friends and had a terrible experience. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this hotel was not up to par. The rooms were incredibly small and outdated, giving off a feeling of claustrophobia. The overall condition of the hotel was disappointing, with worn-out furniture and a general lack of maintenance.
To make matters worse, there was a BOMB THREAT (apparently this wasn't their first rodeo with that and it had occurred 1 or 2 other times) during my stay, which was an extremely distressing situation. The hotel staff did not handle the situation well, failing to provide clear communication or reassurance to the guests. It was a chaotic and unsettling experience that left me feeling unsafe and anxious.the lobby bathroom and stair case on each floor were very unsettling. It was evident that the hotel did not prioritize the safety of their guests.
The most frustrating part of my experience was the unhelpful and robotic attitude of the staff. First when I requested a better room when I first arrived and then when I called the hotel's customer service to request a full refund and allowing me to cancel entire stay due to the numerous issues I encountered, the representative I spoke to was unresponsive and seemed to be reading from a script. She showed no empathy or understanding of my situation, which only added to my frustration.
Thankfully after hours and help from Expedia I was able to leave and cancel early.
