Sea View Hotel Bal HarbourPosted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: its location and beach access. Breakfast included is very much appreciated
Cons: As I mentioned above, renting of beach loungers is annoying, put it in the price of the room.
Location: Location is ideal for someone interesting in lounging on the beach and going to shop or museums when raining. About 20 minutes of Aventura Mall
Good hotel, very well located, excellent access to the beach. For those interested in high end shopping, hotel is right across from Bal Harbour shops. Public transit is available near by to go to Miami downtown or Aventura Mall. Only pet peeve you have to pay extra for a beach lounger, it would be best to include it in the price of the room instead. Other than that a good stay overall

Needs serious updating!Posted Jul 7, 2014
The hotel and the rooms are stuck in an era from way back! The hallways and lobby smell of "old." The hotel charges for everything!!! $20 plus tax for valet parking (and the valet people tell you to keep your keys and park your own car!), they charge $10 per lounger at the pool! which is beyond rediculous that they charge for the chairs and umbrellas by the pool! They also charge for the chairs and umbrellas at the beach but at least there is a guy out there setting it all up for you (so I get being charged for that), however by 5:30pm they are collecting the umbrellas and loungers by the beach and pool. They even charge to use the gym! I would not reccomended this hotel nor would I go back to it. For paying over $200 a night you would expect some of these services to be included in the nightly rate.

older facilities but great staffPosted May 13, 2014
Pros: Staff was great. Beautiful surroundings.
Cons: Better pillows.
Location: Beach is right there.
The hotel is beautiful, but old. The toilet overflowed but the staff was there to handle it right away. Bed pillows are not high quality. The view was exquisite.

Time to tear it down and put up something newPosted May 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great location, but the hotel is very old and feels it. Green carpeting in the room, no central A/C, small bathroom with a tub and plastic shower curtain. The parking is outdoors, and the car takes a beating from the sun. Also, the hotel lacked any energy and life because it was empty and the staff felt like they were going through the motions.

Lovely older, but nicely updated, hotelPosted Feb 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our hotel room was very large, compared to new hotels, and the furnishings and linens were great! Beautiful pool and beach. Not unusual to pay for beach chairs, especially when staff cover them with clean terry covers and offer plenty of towels. Pool and beach staff could not have been nicer! The BEST food for the value is the Snack Bar on the pool deck. It has delicious choices, with super friendly service!!! Property and rooms very clean. Perfect location for shopping and dining.Negatives: No mini-bar, just noisy frig in room. Front desk, security and parking staff not very welcoming.
