hotel review - OK but not 4 star in all regards
Posted Jan 18, 2013
Pros: location
Cons: cleanliness
Location: italian place called Ludo's consistently very good.
Hotel is very convenient to the grove area. Carpet had some burns or dirt. Sofa and chair also had some spots. Bedding, towels, etc ok. Parking is not free - seems to be the standard in this area. did not use hotel wifi Pool area is nice, good view of the bay. Overall recommend, but think the hotel should address the carpets and furniture, as it does not meet 4 star standards.

Overrated, not worth more than three stars
Posted Jan 10, 2013
The hotel seemed nice on the web site, but once we arrived and got our room, we were very disappointed: our room was very small and very standard, not worth four stars. There propably were nicer rooms with better views in the hotel but this was our experience. The hotel staff was not rude but not friendly either. We will not stay here again since there are much better hotels in the same area.

Convenient with good dining, polite staff
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: You should definitely try the ceviche in the Panorama Restaurant.
Cons: The maid service was a bit late in the day.
Location: Great location, near everything, with a beautiful view of the harbor.
My wife and I spent the weekend at the Sonesta. It is an easy walk away from Cocowalk and a nice assortment of restaurants at the center of Coconut Grove. A particularly pleasant surprise was the Panorama Restaurant & Sky Lounge, where we had a very good late evening dinner overlooking Biscayne Bay. Lovely view. Servers were polite and efficient. Our room was tidied up a bit late on Saturday but I suppose that's a minor complaint in context. The front desk staff was also quite nice and helpful.

You need to be kucky with the room....

The hotel is nice but I guess you need to be lucky on the rooms...we had a tiny one in a corner, no worth at all the price. The nice thing is the pool and the terrace.

Convenient spot for living it up in the city.
Posted Jan 8, 2013
Pros: City and port views were fabulous
Cons: Elevator needs room key to go to floors 9 and up. This is supposed to give the feeling of exclusive, but there are too many floors that require it.
The hotel has gorgeous views from the pool, and is so convenient and close to all the great restaurants and shopping centers. I stayed there with my husband and two year old, and we had an amazing time. This was our first time not to stay in South Beach, but we loved the Coconut Grove experience, and we will be coming back.

Nice Hotel
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Elevator
Location: Near CocoWalk shops and restaurants
Nice room, good location - close to shops and restaurants in Coconut Grove. Room was nice. Parking wasn't as bad as I had read by others, but the front desk staff did not go out of their way to help us when we asked specific questions. I am not a fan of elevators to begin with and the elevator room key card did not always work as it should. One evening we had to get another key from the front desk after being stuck in limbo on the elevator. They stated that they were having issues with the cards.

Great stay
Posted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: Spacious, very clean room. Comfy bed. Great pool and rooftop restaurant.
Cons: The valet parking. It took too long. I also don't prefer others handling my vehicle.
Location: Beautiful! Relaxing!
This by far has been one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the past. The location is great and very convenient if you'd like to travel to downtown or to South Beach, etc. Really enjoyed my stay here. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place, in a nice relaxing environment. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Coconut Grove is very beautiful.

We really liked the hotel location, view, and most of the service. We were REALLY dis-appointed to receive a "superior" room that did not have a balcony. According to their in room hotel description only STANDARD rooms do not have a balcony. As the hotel was sold out we could not even negotiate an upgrade to balcony. Upon check out the front desk sent the bell man but did not call for our car. We almost missed our flight even though we were only 15 minutes away from the airport. We had to wait almost 30 minutes as there were MANY TENNIS PLAYERS waiting ahead of us to get their car. The valet was very sorry and reported the incident to the front desk, but that was of no real value. We still had to wait as the only ONE poor car hop ran his butt off trying to get everyone's car.
