Great hotel, modern and close to amenities

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: The lobby was really nice, lots of places to chill and nice staff
Cons: Housekeeping staff woke us at 8am on day of departure and knocked again at 9.30am. Waiting until we check out at 11am would have been more appropriate
Location: Pool, beach, walking, shopping streets, bars, easy tour bus access
Room was nice, hotel itself was good with a nice pool and access to the beach. Staff were all very plesant and free wine hour was a positive!

Amazing hotel in perfect location!

Posted May 19, 2015
We got to the surfcomber and were greeted by dorgis who called is "Connecticut" since that is where we are from. He and the rest of the staff we encountered were very friendly and seemed happy to be at work. The hotel was beautiful and the drinks were delicious... Quick walk out back to the beach where we were given beach chairs with towels! I will be back!

Truly comfortable experience

The hotel and staff could not provide a more enjoyable vacation experience. The ocean was right there as was the inviting pool. I was alone and had a totally relaxing time.

Great service and staff. Beach service is excellent, always had chairs and towels ready to go. The rooms were a little small, and because we weren't in a poolside or beachside room, there was no good view/no balcony, which made us feel a little crammed. However, we were outside for the most part so, the room portion didn't matter as much, but would have loved a balcony etc. Can't beat the location, it is perfect around all that Sobe has to offer.

Close to beach, smaller hotel

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Nice to have yoga offered and the wine tours
Cons: The staff at the restaurant was unexpected- the service was slow and some of the staff members were a bit unfriendly
Location: Close to the beach, within walking distance of restaurants, shopping. Short ride away from nightlife
I liked that the hotel was a bit smaller so the experience felt more personal. Less crowds on the beach and less lines to wait in.

Great Miami getaway

Posted Apr 28, 2015
This was my first trip to Miami and was given many suggestions from friends and colleagues. However, no one mentioned the surf comber. My experience from the initial discussion with Brad at the concierge was top notch. Very professional and friendly. He was able to set us up with a perfect table at the SLS Hyde Beach club saturday night and made several other dining suggestions. The pool staff, pool/bar wait staff and cleaning team were all very professional and friendly. I would definitely suggest this hotel and will go back. PS. Wine hour everyday at either 5 or 6 with the bbq alligator and pork sandwich bites were a great mid day break.

Great location Great food and gorgeous beach!

Would definitely stay here again. Very cute hotel with cool eclectic lobby, gorgeous pool set up and beach too. Nice amenity is that you get two beach chairs with an umbrella included for each day of your stay. The food at The Social Club is fantastic too!

Great location, so so service and overpriced.

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: See above.
Location: The hotel is nestled in the heart of Lincoln Road, next to Delano and Ritz Carlton.
The beach service was not good. I had to fetch my own towel for my bench after standing for 15 minutes. The attendant was quick to get my name and room but failed to offer me my towels. The food platter that we ordered took 60 minutes to arrived. By then were back at the pool. My room cleaning was done at 6pm, literally, after our arrival the previous night.

Nice boutique hotel right on the beach

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Love the lobby, pool is nice and employees are extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: Stated above.
Location: Excellent location - near great restaurants and right on the beach
I've stayed at the Surfcomber a few times and I will continue to go back! However, there were a number of issues that I wasn't happy about. The pool bathroom was not clean and not as significant, the lobby bathroom ran out of toilet paper at one point. More disappointing was the beach service. They were short-staffed - after waiving the waiter over, I had to hunt him down to place an order. The food took forever to come and it was cold! I had the shrimp tacos and they had fallen apart in the box it was in. I had also ordered a glass of Chardonnay and they brought me a Pinot Grigio stating they had run out of Chardonnay on a Friday afternoon! The servers, on the other hand, were extremely pleasant and apologetic. The wine happy hour is wonderful! We had one of the waiters come outside where we were sitting with a refill before the hour was up and he knew what 5 people were drinking! Very impressive!
