Decent for the price, but no 3 star hotelPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: Oh but they have Free Wifi at least
Cons: the rooms smell old and musty. They can add scented candles or glade plugins - I dunno ANYTHING
Location: It's near Washington and 15th. So tons of places nearby. The beach is close. Lincoln is nearby with lots of shopping options and the food below great!
The place was a little run down. I got stuck behind the main door to my floor and all day and night I could hear that door slamming shut. It drove us crazy. We could never sleep because of that, the partying outside and the restaurants below. 4am is a crazy time to still have music playing. Then the leaf blowers show up at 7am. Why am I on vacation and getting up that early. The room smelled musty and old and the fridge was loud. Still couldn't sleep. The room was just ok. Nothing special. The street and dining options below are great though and the staff at the hotel were really pleasant and super friendly. Stacey I think was one their names. She was fantastic. Other than that, I won't be going back.

Clay Hotel on WashingtonPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, staff, location, decor
Cons: Needs faster housekeeping
Location: only a couple blocks from the famous Ocean Drive & Lincoln Road , delicious food right downstairs, great bars, public transportation half a block away
My experience booking hotels has taught me one thing... DONT PAY ATTENTION TO BAD REVIEWS. I looked into this hotel and read plenty of bad reviews, in the end it was what i was looking for budget-wise so i didnt have much choice in the matter so we booked it. It turned out to be a very pleasant stay and the staff was more than friendly and helpful. It's the perfect place for anyone who's in town to explore the city. One issue where there was construction going on and disturbed our sleep very early morning, spoke to management and we were upgraded to a bigger room at no additional cost.Clean, great location, great staff, would consider staying here again.

Best hotel in MiamiPosted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in the most charming area, like you are not even in the big busy always partying Miami, on the other hand you walk 2 minutes and there you are. It is super close to everything, dining, shopping, beach, it is easy access to the airport. Best hotel, really! Room is nice, well equipped, comfortable, charming. No complaint what so ever! :)

Nice Hotel Near All AmenitiesPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Great Customer Service, Location, Very Safe (Private Gates Doors)
Cons: I will replaced carpet floor for ceramic tiles.
Location: Right next door of the hotel is "Havana 1957" Restaurant- Great, Delicious Cuban Food. Great Customer service and reasonable prices.
I had stayed at the Clay Hotel for Labor Day Weekend. Hotel is expanding and they are currently working on renovations. As of my room. I had booked a "Budget Room" which have a Full Size Bed, Private Bathroom, Small TV & Fridge, Digital Safe Box, Night Lamp, AC & Ceiling Fan. The whole room was very clean and cozy. There is a lot of noise on street since hotel is located on a strip full of different restaurants that offer service until midnight and music everywhere; however that was not an issue to me since I went to party and have fun. If you want a quiet hotel, my best suggestion don't even bother to book any hotel near Ocean Ave, Collins Ave, Washington Ave. The parking in South Beach is insane, so be smart; pay for Valet Parking a at the hotel and let them take care of your car.

nice hotel, two blocks up from the beach/Ocean Dr.Posted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: the location relative the the strip, stores, and clubs/places to drink/dance, the A/C in the rooms, nice bathrooms, kind staff
Cons: add full length mirrors to the rooms, one mirror in the bathroom is NOT enough for a group of girls
Location: there is a Hip-Hop Club across the street that is nice, 7-Eleven, restaurants (though they are expensive), and a souvenir shop close by.
Went down Labor Day weekend, South Beach in general wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. I was glad our hotel wasn't right on the strip/Ocean Drive or even right on Collins Ave because we wouldn't have gotten any rest of all the music and night life of the strip. The walk to the beach wasn't bad at all, it was nice to walk around (even though it was super humid). Be mindful that the blocks in Miami are VERY long. The hotel was really close to a 7-Eleven which was great for a night time snack or just to get something non-alcoholic to drink. There is a nice club (Cameo) across the street, they played Hip-Hop/R&B and top 20 songs, had a great time. There are a few restaurants around, but the Mexican Restaurant that's apart of the hotel is expensive. There isn't an elevator and even though we were in the main building of the hotel, there is a second/separate section, so keep that in mind. The rooms don't have full length mirrors, on the ONE mirror in the bathroom, which is fine for a group of guys but makes getting 5 girls ready a two hour process. Outside of that, the rooms are nice, microwave, mini fridge, updated bathroom and A/C. I would definitely stay there again, we were pleased.

cheap hotelPosted Sep 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
the only positives of this hotel is cheap and location. If that's all that matters then you will be fine. The negatives however totally outweighed and almost ruined my trip. First there are no elevators which I did read ahead of time but since I was 7 months pregnant by the time I was there it really was awful. No easy way getting luggage up the steps. The hotel smelled really bad in the rooms and made all my stuff smell when I left. Restaurants are all below the rooms so if you go to bed early plan on being bombarded with loud music til all hours of the night. The hot water was nonexistent in our room barely giving us lukewarm water. There are no beach towels that you can use for day trips to the beach which is absurd since going to the beach is a must. There are also only 20 channels on the tv. Like I said if you go there and only sleep a few hours in the room and that's it you may be able to overlook some general amenities but I on the other hand have grown out of that phase and learned the hard way to spend a little extra on a decent hotel from now on.
