Old school hotel in South Beach.Posted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Awesome pool and close to everything.
Cons: it would be nice if they had courtesy bottles of water for the guests at the room minibar.
Location: Lincoln Road is literally a few steps away. Next to the Delano Hotel and its famous Florida Room.
The National Hotel is a good enough hotel with a perfect location if you want to enjoy life in South Beach. Everything is pretty much within walking distance: Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, restaurants, bars, clubs and shopping. The National Hotel has a traditional vibe to it. It is not a party hotel like the Shore Club, Fountainbleau or the Delano.

Do not book!Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: The pool grounds were really nice.
Cons: A lot! Let's start with a hotel remodel, and pictures of rooms are photoshopped and of rooms that are not part of hotel tower.
Overall horrible experience. The hotel is old and outdated. The room was clean, and quiet, but small, overpriced and bathroom not functional. Shower head hits you by your shoulders. The staff aside the wait staff are beyond terrible. No help offered from bellboy upon arrival. Pool staff were beyond rude. They did their jobs, but not with any care or a smile on their faces. Small terrible towels were being given one day at the beach due to lack of clean new ones. Pool closed on Saturday at 4pm with no warning to host a private reception. Pool closed also, and no pool towels were being handed out at almost the whole time we stayed at the hotel. Cabana bar closes really early, so never were able to enjoy that. Pool, is very nice though. Breakfast was not impressive at all. Very bellow average. At checkout we did complain and were given free breakfast for our stay by hotel manager. If you want to be disappointed, then go ahead and book. I am a regular in Miami, you can definitely find better than The National.

South Beach PerfectionPosted Apr 28, 2015
Our stay at the National couldn't be more perfect. Everything from the location to the staff, the food to our cabana room, and that pool was just incredible. We loved our room, the bed was super comfortable, and the space and atmosphere just lovely. We will highly recommend to all!

Not worth the pricePosted Apr 25, 2015
We arrived early (11am) and check in isn't until four (no problem). We left our luggage with the friendly staff and they said that they would call us when the room was ready because it would be ready before four pm... They never called me! The same thing happened to another guest staying here. The hotel's daily fee includes two beach loungers. we asked what the fee was for two additional loungers. The man said "$10/extra chair. $20 total." We said that was no problem. 30 minutes into laying out, the man's supervisor came out and stated that it's actually $13/chair and its $26 total. I politely stated that it's not the money that bothers me (it's $6 dollars) but you cannot tell your guests one thing and come up to them thirty minutes and tell them a new price! The supervisor was not apologetic or friendly and just kept saying "it's $26. Do you want me to take the chairs away?" I couldn't believe how rude and annoying he was being over their mistake. There are multiple guests staying here that heard this entire conversation and heard him say multiple times "should I just take the chairs away?" I was so embarrassed! The other guests were flabbergasted and came up to talk to me after. I'm paying to stay at a "four star" hotel and this man is embarrassing me, making a scene, and asking to take my chairs away. I ended up talking nicely to their director and telling them how silly this was. He was accommodating after going back and forth. I've never actually left a revie

Pros: I liked the decor and the pool. I liked our room in the cabana! It was great
Cons: I think there should be a ice machine where guest can get their own ice. We had to call to get ice every time.
Location: Its with in walking distance to everything ..beach , restaurants, bars and shopping

Great location, nice boutique hotelPosted Apr 21, 2015
Awesome location. Walking distance to Lincoln Rd. and right on the beach. Staff was friendly and useful when needed. Ambiance in pool, beach, and restaurants is perfect. We only had one meal, Sunday brunch. Didn't disappoint, there was live music and food was really good. Selection was limited, but I will take quality over quantity every time.
