Great for adult fun but not adult relaxationPosted Nov 24, 2013
The Standard is a beautiful place. It's an age 17 and up hotel that has a beautiful spa. I was there for a yoga training and my room was located right beside their restaurant. My evenings needed rest and relaxation but that was not happening with the loud music and party people at the restaurant. I had 2 issues with my room, my toilet was slow draining and stopped up twice, and my shower took 15min to get hot water. I would go back but I would be insistent on having a room far away from the restaurant.

Pros: A quiet and healthy environment
Cons: Would like the opportunity to have a room with a view of the ocean
Location: Great location! Close to the action, but far enough away to enjoy the serenity.
Simply the is best! ...... I love it... looking forward to my return trip. This was the second time for me. See my picture, best seat in the house

Nice for Leisure stay, horrible for business tripPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: Great SPA and Hammam. Good restaurant and pool scene
Cons: I stayed 4 nights. They completely forgott to clean my room one day, which is unforgivable. Room is small. No place to pluy a phone or laptop
Hotel has one of the best Hammam's anywhere, nice spa and gym. Pool scene is just that, a scene. So, while overall very nice for someone on a Leisure trip, espcially for a couple, this is not at all a hotel for a family or for a Business Trip.

To old and small roomsPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The pool
Cons: remodel the rooms
The pool area is nice but the rooms are old and small. This is not a hotel for business travelers.

Adults only spa hotelPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: The pool is a must see! The grounds are immaculate.
Cons: The bathrooms are disappointing. The shower has no ledge so the entire floor floods every time the shower is used. Poor water pressure.
Beautiful location, relaxing and chill. I would recommend it.

Just OKPosted Aug 23, 2013
The rooms are clean and spare; I like the aesthetic but overall the hotel is rundown for the price and the staff in the morning had better things to do than help me check out. I don't think it should take 15 minutes to check out with only one person in front of me. Poor service and attitude to boot...I won't return.

Amazing oasis away from the hustle and bustlePosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Great staff, great facilities, plenty to do, insulated from the rowdiness of South Beach.
Cons: The rooms, as well documented, are small. Know this in advance and it shouldn't take you by surprise.
Location: The yoga classes - they offer tons of styles on different days. The spa - amazing
We stayed at The Standard for 3 nights. The entire experience was surreal. The staff was top-notch - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable - from the front desk to the mini-bar stocking guy. We took frequent advantage of the pool, and it was never too crowded. The poolside service was also great. The food was above average, but not great, and we were okay with that - we went off the property for several meals to get our fix. The spa services/classes/area were great. We took morning yoga classes each day, and while the quality of the teachers was a bit hit-or-miss (loved Farrah), the fact that there were ample classes scheduled was good enough. The Hammam had a good vibe, and the staff at the spa was liberal with the bath additions. We would definitely return to The Standard.

the staff at the standard are amazingly helpful and kind BUT the hotel needs a facelift in the worst way. I understand they're going for bohemian-chic but every room could use a do-over as well as the entire hotel itself. the pool and lobby are quiet nice.
