Good servicePosted Mar 29, 2014
Good service - but the hotel needs updating.. A lot of updating. It's a little old and there was some grudge on the pool so I didn't feel comfortable there. You get what you pay for...

Don't have high expectations. But we enjoyed itPosted Mar 28, 2014
We stayed at this hotel knowing it wasn't going to be the best. I wish the Expedia and the hotel would let people know that the bar they have on the beach is closed and the building on the beach looked condemned due to a huge crack in the wall which you can see as you walk out to the beach.. And also if you park you have to pay 12 bucks a day I think online it says 8 and they double park in most of the parking lot be prepared to hand over your keys to the front desk! (We got lucky and parked in a single spot and didn't have to hand our keys over) But other then that the hotel was just what we thought it would be.. You can't control the air in the room but it was never to cold or to hot.. The room was clean the construction noise from the building next door was loud but it wasn't the end of the world... There are restaurants and some shops in walking distance... The beach was real busy on the Sunday we arrived but the rest of the week it was empty and enjoyable... When we checked in the lady said there was a complimentary breakfast but they didn't advertise it well I guess to get it you had to order from the pizza place inside that we never ate at so I can't say if it's good... If you plan to stay here don't have high expectations or you will be disappointed

Pros: Location was good
Cons: Rooms need to be refurbished
Location: Beach and lots of restaurants and shopping close by
Nice but a bit noisy at night. Too many loud mouths by the pool very late at night.

Only good thing was beachPosted Feb 19, 2014
When we pulled up to the parking lot it looked nice on the outside. Boy are looks deceiving. Upon checking in a general man walked us to our room when he turned on the lights I wanted to checkout. The rooms were very outdated and dirty. The room had ants and Mosquitos. The bathroom was discusting I wore my flip flops in the shower. The beds were hard and could tell they were old. The tv was really old and the picture was awful. The only reason we stayed was I couldn't get a refund and it was after 10 and I needed sleep otherwise I would have checked in elsewhere

On last legsPosted Feb 3, 2014
Sandwiched between two towers , one undergoing extreme renovations, a lot of the facility was under construction. This includes the awnings on the beach. Everything was let go as if it was getting ready to be sold. It's a joke to call it the Monaco a resort. It should be your last resort!

Would stay there again but far from South BeachPosted Dec 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
It's (average) 45 mins by bus away from South Beach. In peak hour, it took an hour but we did make it there once in 35 mins so it depends on traffic (the bus stop is right across the road). However, there are things to do around this hotel. It's right on a quiet beach, it's a ten minute bus trip from the famous Aventura mall, and there are many restaurants within walking distance (with varying price ranges), including a Denny's across the road which was great fun. There's a Walgreens across the road and 2 CVSs within walking distance. There's also an area with Russian delis and food within walking distance. The room was comfortable but the walls were thin so bring earplugs. Most of the staff are great but one is very unprofessional. He got frustrated with me when I decided to turn down a 4 hour bus trip to Key Largo because I have a back injury. He sighed and banged his hands down on the counter, swore and told me his back injury is worse than mine. How would he know this? Ridiculous! VERY rude, unnecessary and unprofessional. I also caught him talking about my decision with several staff members. When they saw me, he stopped talking. This was the only negative point. Please note that in Miami, attractions are so far away from each other (Bayside marketplace, Seaquarium, Flamingo gardens, snorkeling), you need a car to get around, otherwise public transport to attractions is either ridiculously inconvenient or ridiculously expensive (except to South Beach or Aventura mall).
