Villa Italia is a small, quiet hotel just on the other side of 5 and Washington. It's out of the way from the fray of the beach, meaning a good spot for R&R, and not too far away from the beach (you can reserve a chair and umbrella at the beach, and the hotel provides a beach towel). The staff is super and the hotel is very clean.
The kingsize bed was extremely comfortable. The furniture in the room is showing its age however and should be upgraded, and more practical furniture (like a clothes dresser) would have been helpful rather than working out of a suitcase. There was a lot of wasted space in the room - a desk with no chair, a built in suitcase stand, etc. - that could be repurposed. It would also be helpful to provide instructions on how to use the Nespresso machine and TV.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would return. If you're looking for more restaurant choices and more accessibility to the hotels and clubs up by Lincoln Mall, then you will pay $7 for an Uber to get up there - although the walk is nice, it can be a bit far to go every day.
