"Nicely priced, nice location, great staff."
Me and my partner stayed for a single night at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well stocked up with drinks and biscuits and the choice of morning breakfast was great. All in all it was a pleasurable experience which I would gladly repeat.

"Friendly and comfortable"
Where else could you book on-line late in the day, arrive later that night to be greeted by the owner insisting that he would be pleased to open the kitchen and cook anything we desired from the menu. This sums up our visit. Very comfortable, very friendly, and delicious as well. We would stay again.

"Mid-Wales Gem"
Guidfa House is a truly excellent B&B. Our room was comfortable and attractively decorated with a small but adequate en-suite shower room that was nice and clean. For breakfast there is a good choice of cold and hot foods. I personally really enjoyed the cold platter and my wife's smoked salmon with scrambled eggs was just perfectly done. Although the house is by a road traffic island on the A44 north of Llandrindod Wells we were not disturbed by traffic noise. It is a short drive into Llandrindod Wells to get an evening meal. Guidfa House is an ideal place from which to explore Mid-Wales. We would not hesitate to return.

"Nice hotel in Montgomery"
We stayed two nights, the staff are welcoming and friendly, the room was on the small side but full of character, clean and in good decorative order. The restaurant serves very good food at very good prices, we plan to stay there again next time we visit the area.

"An amazing place to stay"
Driving up to the Hotel really gives you a sense of excitement. The long driveway ending with the fantastic stately home lives up to the reviews. The staff were welcoming and you felt as if you were the Lord and Lady of the Manor on arriving. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and in keeping with the age of the house. The service by all staff was excellent and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Hope to stay here again

"A great winter retreat."
We are a couple aged 60ish. Went looking for quiet, comfort, warmth (it was early March), big fires, countryside, chill out etc etc. And we found it here. What do you get? Remoteness, perched in woods over the RIver Usk. Extensive grounds leading down to the river. A big log fire and wood burning stoves (in public rooms). Warmth (even during bitterly cold days). Great service from friendly staff. We had a 'Cottage Room' away from the main building. This was a superb room. Huge with massive bed and warm as toast. Tons of hot water but the shower was a bit lacking - very weak. But great for having a huge hot bath after a long hill walk. The one thing you need to be aware of is that the only meals available in the evening are a choice of 2 or 3 course meals at £32 or £40 a head plus drinks of course (so budget £100 total for two). Superb cooking and worth the money. But if you are staying longer than a couple of nights (we stayed 4) then eating in the hotel starts to become very expensive. So much so that we only ate in two nights (went to Crickhowell the other two). If only there was a cheaper alternative such as bar food that would be a welcome addition. But, as I said, we'll be back!
