Bring earplugsPosted Jul 21, 2014
When one thinks of Middlebury, traffic isn't the first thing to come to mind, however, this hotel is at the intersection of two busy streets, which spoils an otherwise peaceful visit to the small town. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean. Overall, a nice place to visit. I suggest a high room facing the parking lot, opposite the intersection if you are a light sleeper.

Dated HotelPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The location
The hotel has an interior that is dated and unkept, our oom was rough in particular the bathroom and furnishings. The reception for the TV was bad and generally the place nneds a major reno, and up-dating. Very disappointing the town is lovely.

Pros: The staff was very friendly, the room was comfortable, and it had a great atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing! I enjoyed my stay.
Location: Explore Middlebury College. It's a gorgeous campus. Otter Creek Bakery is delicious and not a far walk!
I had a great stay at the Middlebury Inn. Its central location was convenient for my short stay so that I was able to walk into town.

Perfect location for visiting Middlebury CollegePosted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the historic nature of the hotel and its perfect location to the centre of Middlebury.
Cons: An inevitability of the location is sound from passing traffic, of which we were conscious in the early morning.
We spent three nights at Middlebury Inn while visiting our daughter at Middlebury College. We were impressed by the welcome we received, and that our room was sufficiently spacious and well-appointed for us to invite our daughter and a friend to spend time with us in our room.

Cute and cosyPosted May 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel was really clean, and the staff were great. The food was good. The elevator was really old, and you can only use if for luggage, so be prepared to take some stairs.

Historic Inn in center of townPosted Apr 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a historic inn in the center of Middlebury. As such, the rooms are smaller, the beds are only doubles and we had to climb 2 flights of stairs with our luggage to get to our room. Not a huge burden but might be for some people. They do have rooms that front the parking lot if stairs are an issue. Overall it was very comfortable and convenient for our needs.

Poor sleep, great breakfastPosted Apr 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
The addition of some robust curtains would a lot, curbing the daylight and the street noise to allow us to sleep past 6 a.m. I can forgive old hotels a lot -- steam pipes clanking, floors creaking -- in exchange for their charm, but stuff that can be easily remediated should be.
