“Great Value”

Pleasantly surprised. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

We stayed here because everything else close to Collingwood was booked. On the map it didn't look too far from the ski resort but horrible weather and blowing snow made the route look like a moonscape in some areas causing the travel time the first night to top out at 1.5hrs. During the day with dry roads it was more like a 45-50min trip back to Blue Mountain. It probably is quite beautiful in the summer but the distance from where we wanted to be caused the location rating to be on the low side. On the up side, the hotel service was very good with friendly and helpful staff. The included breakfast was adequate. The beds are probably the very best feature. I have never slept in a more comfortable motel/hotel bed. Even my husband, who is notorious for not sleeping well in a motel/hotel, had a very good night sleep.

This hotel provided everything we wanted for a short one night stay. Arrived, went to a large social function, got back at 4:00 am, went to bed, got up and checked out.

the place is old, needs BIG renovation, a lot is running down, needs better air, you could smell cigarettes everywhere, if the air-conditioner was working, the fridge could not and vice versa,

“Would recommend but, could use some updating”

Rooms were clean when we arrived, but did not seem to have been properly cleaned during our stay there. Towels were replaced with new ones, but bathroom was not cleaned; beds were just straightened, not remade each day. Staff was friendly and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Overall appearance of hotel was good for an older style hotel. We also had one of the two rooms without a screen door; would have been nice to have as weather was comfortable enough to not have to use air conditioner during our stay

“Yucky”

Sheets on the beds were wrinckled. Not sure if they were clean. Room smelled smokey. Towels and faceclothes folded messy, and they looked dirty. Air conditioner wasn't working. Complained after first night, they did something to it, it worked for a few hours, and then started spitting out ice. Two nights without airconditioning. Rooms need a paint job. Toilet needs a new toilet seat. The only thing that was good, was the continental breakfast. Second night, I bought my own sheets and pillow cases at Walmart. (That's how gross the bed made me feel)

“Unhappy”

Our non-smoking room contained an ashtray, had smoking burns on the lip of the tub and stunk of stale smoke. There was a large dark stain on the mattress covered only by a thin sheet. The tub contained hairs that belonged to a previous visitor. A very unsatisfactory stay but sadly for us, the only place in town that was available that weekend.
