Well-located hotel catering to young people

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, friendly staff, quality (if loud) bar, Bliss spa onsite, good room view, overall good vibe.
Cons: Rooms could use updating, esp beds and linens; shower temperature was erratic; could use more compfy sitting area in the lobby other than the bar.
Location: Piedmont Park; Highland Bakery; Beltline; all major tourist sites
The location in Midtown was perfect- very central to everything we wanted to visit and more interesting than Downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but had a nice view of Piedmont Park. The bed was a little lumpy and linens seemed slightly worn. Had cocktails at Whiskey Park - very tasty cocktail but hated the outdoor smoking scene. I got a massage at Bliss, and the therapist was well trained and very knowledgeable.

Pretty good experience. Over priced for the quality. Needs some renovations and updates. Could be cleaner. Great views and comfy beds!

Quality inn hotel in the city

Posted Mar 22, 2015
This is a high price hotel which gives you the feel of a cheap party hotel in Las Vegas. Small rooms. Only good thing is it's in the city. Waste of money.

Great Hotel in the Heart of Midtown

Posted Mar 18, 2015
The W Hotel has long been my favorite choice for stays in Midtown. It is in walking distance to Piedmont Park and good eating places. I was somewhat disappointed on this stay that housekeeping was not attentive to details. The minibar in the room didn't get replenished daily any of the 3 days we stayed. Service was slow when we called for something that was needed. Parking valet staff was on top of things and always had our car ready with a smile.

Perfect location

Wonderful weekend getaway experience at W Midtown. The staff was resourceful and very accommodating. Just minutes away from Peachtree restaurants and fun. Already looking forward to my next stay here.

Lovely hospitality people, but rundown facility

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Jessica and Sean were lovely people who helped us get a quiet as possible table, but also served us a complimentary desert with a very sweet sentiment
Cons: Too many to list in 150 characters. It needs a complete makeover for us to ever want to go back and we will probably never book another W room.
Location: Close to the magnificent Atlanta Botanical Garden
In NYC when we enter the lobby of the W, the world falls away; calm, comfort, beauty, repose prevail. The Charlotte Bar beckons. In Atlanta after hours on the road and an hour of the usually crazy, intense Hotlanta traffic jams and crawls and howls, we pull into the carnival valet car-park side-show, we think -- a few minutes and we'll be in peaceful W-land. NOT! It's a dance club lobby!. With pounding club music and a DJ on a platform. Our room was quite well worn with scuffed paint and torn upholstery. There was no way for my 5' 2" wife to turn on the shower without having her head directly under the shower head. The sink drain did not close. The safe did not work and after no maintenance person came to the room after a half hour, we carted everything down to what we hoped would be a quite restaurant/bar area. Nope. The restaurant was on the second floor and the "walls" were open to the lobby. The nice lady at the bar explained that this is the W "brand." There was a free bottle of Dasani water in the room which -- being a Coke product -- was probably the same as the water that came out of the tap. The other bottled waters in the room -- prominently displaying DRINK UP labels -- were priced -- in rather small letters and faint ink -- at $5.00. The half-bottle of indifferent wine was $25. The free wifi came with an "insecure connection" warning and an offer to purchase a secure connection for $14.95 a day. I could go on, but I am almost out of characters.

Convenient location

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Restaurant! Breakfast & staff.
Cons: Attitude adjustment at front desk.
We have stayed in a number of W & have been very happy. We loved the Atlanta W restaurant & their attentive staff. The room was swanky & comfortable. Even the housekeepers went out of their way to be helpful-offering to carry luggage, call for the elevator. The lobby is a little tired especially in light of day. The front desk staff were officious & curt. They were so very different than everyone else that they made an impression. A poor one. I was told to "move my luggage next to the wall" in order to check it with the valet. I had to ask another clerk about 5 different ways to discover the details of a later check out-which others in my group had been offered. She seemed to have better things to attend to. When I was finally told there would be a $50 charge, there was no offer of luggage storage, etc.
