"Excellent hotel in a brilliant location"
We went to New York for my 60th birthday. The hotel was wonderful. They provided a bottle of wine in our room and a (delicious) cake to mark the occasion. The staff could not have been more helpful and were all pleasant and friendly, without ever being intrusive. Despite the smallish size of the room, we had everythi ng we needed, including an amazing view of the Empire State Building. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Nice bathroom with excellent shower - and unusually for a hotel, a decent hairdryer. We loved the rooftop bar. We eat in the dining room for a late lunch one day and had a snack in the rooftop bar one evening - and really enjoyed the food. We could not recommend this hotel more highly.

"Perfect and Unexpected."
The hotel itself is awesome - good location, bar, food (attached restaurant), awesome room and location. We arrived a little early and our room wasn't ready. They gave us free wine so we hung out for about 40 minutes waiting on the room. There ended up being an issue with the room, so they gave us two rooms for no extra charge. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Very nice hotel"
This was my first experience at the Skyline, a very nice hotel with extremely friendly staff. We were given a free room upgrade which was an excellent room. And we swam in the 82 degree salt water pool (very nice & warm in the winter) with gorgeous views of the NYC skyline. The hotel was extremely clean and very updated for a NYC hotel. The only problem we had was the noise level on the street but it is NYC (we went a week before Christmas). Also, it was close enough to the sights but not so close that we were crowded. Also, restaurants were extremely accessible from this location.

Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Its western half is home to Manhattan's largest venues: the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden. In the Garment District, designers try to stay a cut above fashion's latest trends. Nearby, Hell's Kitchen is hot thanks to Restaurant Row. In one block on West 46th, diners can dash from Bangkok to Brazil.
