Not great. If you're staying in any of the rooms below, do not bring a lot of luggage. There's only one really small narrow staircase to get there...luckily, we only had two small bags, but if we brought big baggage, it would be been impossible. The night staff was not nice at all, and the room itself was a little dreary. The walls were also super thin, so we could hear everything.

The hotel was not fancy by any means but it was cheap, clean had a great location (only a block or two from the metro), and great service. When dropped off at the front of the hotel it was a but confusing how to get to the right floor but friendly neighbors to the hotel helped us find the way. It did not have air conditioning but it cooled very easily/well with the large windows open. A small old tv was in the room but we didn't use it. The bed was a bit hard but comfortable enough for one night. Overall if you are looking for pretty this is not it as it is very dated but if you are on a budget and want cheap and clean this is perfect. I loved it personally but can see how it might disappoint others.

It was worth the stay, the Metro station was only a block away.the Hotel was good. the room didn't have a view but it's ok.
A fine place for a quick stayPosted Jul 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
It's definitely a one-star hotel, but I think they are truthful in their description. The location is excellent if you're using the Metro to get into the city center, and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood with a great restaurant next door. Only met one staff person who could really speak English, so don't count on them for a lot of "concierge services". They are very kind, though. Room was rather hot in July with only a ceiling fan to cool the place.

Hotel Gambara is awsomePosted Jul 23, 2011 on Hotels.com
We staid one night in hotel Gambara, in a 3 people room. The hotel dosent have resturant, they dosent have a big and nice reception, and when you arrive you dont understand that you have arrived to a hotel, becouse its in the second floor of a block and you have entre by a common steers for many privat appartments also... But that dosnt mather, we needed a cheap place to sleep, this hotel is easy to find from the Metro, and the crew where awsome. This is personalized service on a high level, and the rooms where nice with good beds. I higly recomend hotel Gambara, maby not for buisness travelers who are used to a 5 star hotel, but for freetravelers and budget travelers this is a great place to stay! And thats because of the great crew and the nice beds.

what we expectedPosted Jun 28, 2010
It was a fine budget hotel, especially fine for the price we paid. it was a few blocks from a subway station and in a rather residential neighborhood, though there is a bar/restaurant next door.
