A tax is imposed by the city for stays beginning 1 September 2012, and will be collected at the property. The tax ranges from EUR 1 to EUR 5 per person, per night. The tax will be reduced by 50% from July – August, 15-30 December, and 1-10 January. The amount has been determined by the local administration and depends on the length of stay, property classification, and room price. This tax does not apply from the 15th consecutive night of stay onwards for residence-hotels only, to residents of Milan, or children under 18 years of age.
