Simone at the front desk was quite fluent in English and exceptionally friendly and helpful (his local restaurant recommendations were spot on for quality, fun, and affordability). The breakfast was delicious-- we even had fresh blueberries to go with our yogurt! The nearby gelateria, Pixy, was a great treat and the close by supermarket a godsend. Location was quiet and convenient-- a mere 15 minutes by taxi to the Linate Airport and an easy tram ride to the Duomo at the heart of town.

Hotel Molise

Hotel Molise was a pretty nice hotel. The rooms were clean and bathrooms new. Hotel staff was helpful and the breakfast was better than I expected for an Italian breakfast buffet. Only downside was the location of the hotel. It's pretty far from the city center and all the sites, but once you get familiar with the transportation system it's not that bad. There is a frequent bus line that takes you to the center in 10 minutes and the tickets (cheap!) can be bought from the hotel.

Near the city centre?

The hotel was more or less as expected in terms of condition and facilities. Our room had 3 beds in it which reduced space significantly. Road traffic noise (Italian car horns) meant the windows had to be closed at night time. It was suggested when booking that the hotel was conviniently situated for the city centre which is not quite accurate. You either had a 20 minute walk to the nearest Metro station or took a €10 plus taxi. Now for the good bits. Bed linen was changed every day without fail and the supply of towels was almost limitless. The staff where amongst the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in over 30 years of travelling.
