Authentic Italian hotel/restaurant close to MPX

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Family run, staff, authenticity, restaurant, recently renovated large family ( sleeps 4 ) room, close to MPX T2....
Cons: map with street directions around hotel
Location: Very close to MPX, yet you get an Italian village feeling ...also could be used as a base for shopping and Lake Como day trips
We stayed at Osteria two nights and used it as a base for day trip to Lake Como and early morning EasyJet flight from MPX T2. While system of one way streets around hotel created some confusion initially, staff and facilities of the hotel created great experience for us, would definitely consider staying again at Osteria. Celeste (an owner) made personally sure that we had great experience at the hotel.

Wonderful hotel, staff and resturant.

Posted Aug 2, 2014
This hotel was a wonderful end to our month in Italy just before leaving for home. The staff was very professional and friendly The owner spent special time with us explaining the history of the area and hotel. It is still a popular stay for horse enthusiasts. Wish we could have stayed another day

Impossible to find.

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Clean, efficient, modern
Cons: breakfast is weak
It took us more than two hours and help from locals to finally find this hotel--we arrived after midnight, and it was closed. It is in the middle of a tiny but complex village where street names change every block or two. The directions on the website, in Italian, were not accurate because a major byway in the instructions is closed. The rooms are small, but furniture and beds are nearly new. The place is spotlessly clean. This is similar to many many small village hotels i Italy but the price for value is high. This might work just fine if you're stuck at Malpensa and need a place to crash for one night and you don't have a car. The hotel will shuttle you back and forth.

Good overnight hotel for airport travel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
We stayed one night in preparation for an early flight the next day. This hotel was perfect for that. Clean, comfortable rooms, great staff, and good morning breakfast. Exactly what we needed.

Very good hotel

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The staff, shuttle service, the courtyard and the restaurant
Cons: The bathroom was small and shower only in our room
We had a nice 1 nights stay. It is in a small town near Malpensa and have a very different feel from Milan which we liked. The hotel staff was VERY helpful and the shuttle service was wonderful. They are available anytime even to our 5am request going to MXP. The train station was not so convenient that they only have train stops every 1 1/2 hour or so plus it may get delayed so going to Milan center we ended up taking shuttle service to the airport then take Malpensa Express (train) from the airport. The room was not very big but ok size for us (couple toddler). Great restaurant.

nice but some aspects lacking

Posted Jun 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
(1) somehow I was booked into and paid extra for a double room when all I needed was a single, roughly $10-15 more than the $111 rate shown on the website (is a double the default on the hotels.com?) and (2) on my confirmation email, the room description stated that my room would have a shower/tub combination, but it had just a shower - I had looked forward to soaking in a tub after an athletic event that day. In other respects the room was excellent, clean and freshly redecorated in a spare modern style.
