A good findPosted Oct 14, 2014
We were really happy with this hotel and it exceeded our expectations for the quality relative to price. The location had easy access to the city centre and central rail station with plenty of great restaurants in the area but away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area. Would recommend

just outside Milan Centro saves $$Posted Sep 29, 2014
This hotel is just outside the inner circle on the map. It is an easy walk from Milan Central Station and just a couple of blocks from the big Central Park like area and trolley line. We walked to the Duomo and then took the subway back after dinner etc. There is a great place to eat across the street from the hotel with very reasonable pricing and the hotel serves appertivo and breakfast. The hotel is having a bit if an identity crisis between old and new but overall a great place to stay for a few nights while in Milan if you are on a budget.

Room a bit disappointingPosted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: the breakfasts, the staff, the location
Cons: the bathroom, the corrididors
Location: Ideal location for us. Near to central station and walking distance to the centre. Cathedral impressive.
We chose the hotel as a base for the Grand Prix. The hotel did grow on me after my first impressions of being a bit disappointed. Yes the hotel is quirky with our room being on a dark blue, twinkly lit corridor - not really my taste. It all felt a bit dark and gloomy and the room although not tiny was again quite dark with a cramped bathroom. I did ask at reception if we had a superior room - which we did and I was shown an alternative but it wasn't much different from the first. The decor was plain with wooden flooring and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was ok but very small and could have done with an update. Everything was cleaned well each day and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts with lots of choice - cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits, eggs, yoghurts etc. On reflection we enjoyed our break but the room let it down.

Reasonable hotel with helpful staffPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Staff and the garden
Cons: Rooms and location
Location: We took cabs to most places. Generally a short cab ride. The immediate neighborhood is not that interesting.
Hotel staff were very helpful. This is a big plus. Another big plus is the nice garden; pretty and quiet. A nice place to regroup in the afternoons. The rooms are cramped and thus making the garden an especially nice feature. The small rooms are clean, but could use updating. Location is OK, but a good walk to the Duomo.

Good Location, Helpful and Friendly StaffPosted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Helpful staff, business center and room service.
Cons: The beds are as hard as rocks. If you are not accustomed to this it will be a a change.
Location: Good location. Within walking distance (30 min) of the Duomo. Need a taxi or subway to travel to San Siro.
Overall, a fine place to stay. The location is within walking distance of most major attractions and within 30 minutes of the Duomo and Viator tour agency. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. Room service is good. I was able to have the staff print a soccer match ticket off e-mail on very short notice. They will also arrange taxi service on 5 minutes notice.

great little hotelPosted Aug 12, 2014
great little hotel with super friendly staff, decent rooms. gym was ok but had a treadmill and a weight machine. the staff were super nice. good breakfast was included. hotel is in the middle of everything, close to central station which is helpful if you plan on taking day trips or are only there for a day or two. to get to the duomo you need to walk a bit (about 20 minutes) which is not bad. the neighborhood is not great but I think its one of those up and coming areas. not super expensive, but trendy and safe. excellent experience, would stay there again.

Nice staff, edge of questionable neighborhood.Posted Jul 28, 2014
Good room, nice staff, don't order dinner- find another place. But breakfast was OK. Close to train and historic district but we took taxis to avoid the bad neighborhoods.

Nice hotel within easy reach of train station;Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Quiet, comfortable and realxing
Location: It is located in an ethnic neighborhood but in proximity to a great restaurant right across the street -
Really can't say too much as we were there for only one day and didn't get to experience a lot of the city's offerings

Great Hotel in great locationPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Accommodation standard, friendly staff, great location
Cons: Buffet breakfast could be improved
Hotel Sanpi Milano is a lovely medium sized hotel offering reasonably priced accommodation that is of a high quality. The room that I stayed in was very large and the bathroom was huge. Staff are very friendly and always ready to assist. The hotel is within 15 minutes walking distance to the centre of the city but is also close to 2 Metro lines and the city tram network. Tram No. 1 is only 50m away and takes you right into the centre of town and to the Cadorna rail station that has the airport train connection to Malpensa Airport. Typically of Italian hotels the spread for the buffet breakfast is limited. This seems to be an Italian cultural thing as the locals don't usually have much for breakfast but enjoy a big lunch. We found this a bit across Italy and was explained to us by a tour guide. I can recommend this hotel.
