“Very Big Disappointment!”

The heater for our room did not work, we complained, they moved us to a new room, and the heater there also did not work properly! Housekeeping took our heavyblanket from the bed the first day and did not bring it back! We complained to reception and they said as long as we were there it could not be brought back! The queen bed was not a real queen in our first room (it was 2 beds pushed together). This did change with our complaint when we got the second room. The staff were very rude and unfriendly and made us feel very unwelcome. They say they have internet for the guests of the hotel, but you cannot connect without paying for it! The exercise equipment stopped working, we told them about this, they said it would be fixed, but it never was! The room was not cleaned properly and we were rushed out of our room so they could clean. They said they would not clean with us in the room, which made us suspicious of what they may be doing. The housekeeping lady was also very rude to my fiancee when he said he needed 5 more minutes before we could leave the room. The only bright spot was the older man who waited on us at breakfast. Mr. Augnoo is the only positive aspect of the whole hotel! We had other complaints as well, but only so much room here to type them. I do not advise anyone to stay here! It ruined our whole trip!

Getting there
If you arrive at the Malpensa airport, the only avisable way to get to Milan is on the bus. Taking a taxi from the Malpensa airport is going to be anywhere from 70-100+ euros for one way! The bus is nice and let's you see some of the countryside. The buses can take you to different areas of the city and it is written on the buses in english where they go. If you are still unsure, you can ask the bus driver, the majority of them speak english well enough to understand you and answer you. I would not advise renting a car unless you are very familiar with the laws of Italy and very familiar with the streets of Milan. Its also a big plus to be able to read Italian for the road signs!
Getting around
The best way to get around and enjoy the culture is to walk. However, I would advise to do this in their spring and fall seasons. Summers can be very hot and winters can be extremely cold! Do not take a taxi unless it is absolutely necessary! Taxi's are very expensive there, even for a short distance! Trams/subway system is ok if you are not traveling alone. I would not guarantee safety for a tourist traveling alone. Renting a car...well, unless you are familiar with the crazy way the streets are set up, you are going to be very confused and may be stopped by the police. (Better not to risk it)! Slow, casual walking is the best option! NOTE: Don't smile at people when walking! They will pick you out as tourist immediately and then you risk a pick-pocket taking your money. Do not be overly-friendly. The locals will also see very quickly that you are a tourist because the majority of people in Milan are not friendly!
Shopping
Only one thing to say on this matter....anywhere you go, the shopping is going to be expensive! Milan deals with name brands, and with the euro being worth so much more than the dollar....you are going to pay very expensive prices for anything!
Dining
Go to local places to eat; the prices are much better and the food is excellent! Small pizza places, or even the local grocery stores (buy from the deli), the food is great! Most places have price lists of their food on the window. Before you enter you can see if the prices are within your budget. American fast food in Milan is NOT fast food! Be prepared for an extended wait and also be prepared for high prices! Local foods, such as; breads, pasta, coffee, gellato, pizza and fresh fruits and fruit juices are all excellent! Just look around and explore to find the best prices.
Other
Many hotels will carry brochures about places to go and things to see. Also, many hotels will have english printed newspapers that list special events for the month, as well as a city map within the newspaper. If you are staying in a good hotel, you can also ask the staff there about places to go, things to see and the best way to get there.

“Great Location”

Hotel is 25M from the Metro and 100M from the central train station. Breakfast was satisfactory and the 2nd room they showed us was very nice - the 1st one wasn't. Staff was very helpful. Biggest complaint would be the cost of the internet (but this is common in Italy).
