Nice hotel, but overpricedPosted Sep 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
This quirky hotel is located in an interesting neighborhood that is a tram ride away from the Duomo. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious but unfortunately did not have outdoor access. The breakfasts were good but not overwhelming. At about 2/3 of the price, this would have been a real find.

An absolute gemPosted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: The staff and ambiance
Cons: Nothing bad to say
Location: Very central
An absolute gem in Milan. The staff are exceptional and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is memorable. A true home from home and well located with bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and the more touristy sights about a half an hour stroll away. Furnishings, decor and breakfast top class. I would definitely stay here again.

Milan hotelPosted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: It had a lot of character - not at all a typical tourist hotel. Wonderful breakfasts. Chance to meet fellow guests
Cons: Access - 3 separate keys are required at night and sometimes during the day. Only 1 set is typically given out to guests. Ask for two if you are two.
Location: Excellent - 20 minute walk to the Duomo, the Gallery, La Scala etc.
We had a good time. The staff could not be nicer. The breakfasts were communal and very good. Many good restaurants are close. Major tourist sites are close as well.

The place to stay in MilanPosted Jun 1, 2013
Location: It's about a 20 minute walk to the Duomo and a 5 minute walk to the canal nightlife area
The Yard Suite & Dependence is simply outstanding. We stayed in the Lodge suite which consisted of a beautiful living room decorated in an African theme, a large bedroom and a great bath. Breakfast was outstanding and it was delightful to dine at a large table and meet guests from around the world. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive and Valentina made our stay most enjoyable. Nearby across the canal is a great area for nightlife and music and the happy hour food is great. The YS&D is THE place to stay in Milan!

Lovely trip to MilanPosted May 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Yard is a faultless family run guest house. Everything from the rooms to breakfast and the friendliness of everyone involved in running the Yard was amazing. Great location. Worth every penny.

Electic and charming hotelPosted Apr 6, 2013
Pros: The staff, the location and the idiosyncratic features of the hotel are its strengths.
Cons: The WiFI network performance was irritating.
Location: Good location with easy access to the centre (a 20 minute walk) or a tram ride directly to the cathedral.
The hotel is eclectic which makes it a great place to stay. Staff are very helpful and charming. They are very keen to help and provide advice and guidance on what to see and do in Milan. Breakfast was a pleasure with a large range of items to select from. One minor drawback is the WiFi network which is slow and unreliable.
