Continental breakfast could be a little better. At least make the Cheerios honey nut.

Great location close to Mt. Katahdin

We stayed at Baxter Inn as a prep for our hike early in the morning. The location is great and the staff are informed about the Park. That was valued and Important to our group as we were first time hikers. The hotel is OK, bathroom clean, bed is fine, the comforter old, much better than a tent ( our other option).....not a place you would go if you were looking for a get away.

We went to Millinocket to visit where my Dad grew up. Tim was very friendly and helped us locate Jerry Pond where my Dad fished as a boy. We had a very memorable trip. Tim was a true Mainer.

Fall in Maine

Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Location, price
Cons: Rooms could use an upgrade
Location: Hiking and kayaking in Baxter State Park and Gulf Hagas.
Hotel was clean, but dated. Overall its reasonable price and close proximity to Baxter State Park made it a good choice for the area.

Remodeling needed badly...

Posted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: Spacious room. Refrigerator. Windows could be opened.
Cons: It needs an overhaul.
Location: Hotel was too far for sunrise in Baxter - approx. 20 miles out. Chinese restaurant across from hotel was pretty good.
We stayed for 2 nights. Room was spacious, bed old and hard. Pillows too old. Only one worn microfibre blanket, not enough for an October night in Baxter. My husband got locked into the bathroom. The knob turned and did not open. The locks did not match and it took a while to get the handle off from the outside to free him. Staff was very helpful. Shower old but good. "Continental breakfast" was mediocre: cereal, small danished, engl. muffins, grape and strawberry marmalade only and whipped butter. No creamcheese, no fruit, no bagel or waffle. Coffee was good.

Good Place

Good place to stay on your way in/out of Baxter State Park. Reliable advice for best burger in town, best breakfast, and when to show up at Togue Pond Gate (early!)

Probably the best hotel in Millinocket, Maine.

I had a nice 3-day stay at the hotel. The room was neat and clean and the front desk was friendly and answered any questions I had. It's centrally located and is reasonably priced. A major plus is that it has free WIFI and the Internet is fast and reliable. I would stay there again.

Great option right next to Baxter State Park and convenient for our Katahdin expedition. Terrific and very accommodating innkeeper. Hotel was clean and comfortable, but dated.
