“Small rooms, bad location”
Tiny rooms, not particularly clean, and a seedy neighborhood.
“NIck”
Great hotel. Everything is new and very modern. The rooms look like fancy bachelor pads. There was a hotel bar close to our room, we asked to be switched to a different room and our wish was granted without question. I will stay here each time I travel to Milwaukee. Very friendly hotel staff as well. The neighborhood, well, it is downtown Milwaukee. Did not bother us though.
“great boutique hotel for the price”
We were greeted by a very friendly front desk man who mapped out sights for us to see and mentioned the hotel offered free shuttle service within 2 miles to and from the hotel. Great bonus! The rooms were very clean, much much higher end than I expected from a Days Inn - we were very impressed! Not much room to move, but perfect for a cozy night's sleep. I liked the apple cinnamon scent that lingered in the air when we opened the door to our room. The neighborhood is not the absolute best, but certainly not bad and we never felt uncomfortable even walking over to the Lakefront Brewery. This hotel is surprisingly close to Water Street and the downtown. Great deal if you want a clean, comfortable, stylishly boutique hotel, with free breakfast, convenient shuttle, and a super affordable price.
“Recommended with caveats”
For what I paid (as part of an Expedia package) and for how long I stayed (1 night) this was fine. Be aware that it is not in the middle of the action. It is in a drab neighborhood in the NW section of the city, and that neighborhood edges into some that are actually questionable. The hotel does offer free shuttle service within a 2-mile radius, but there is only one driver, and he seems to know only the major destinations. (If you are an intrepid walker, you can reach the center of the city on foot.) Windows in the rooms are small and the views are not great. Sometimes the desk is entirely in the hands of very young people who don't really understand customer service. The free breakfast was a surprise: it was quite substantial. Cleanliness was fine; not an issue at all.
“Milwaukee”
The gentlemen at the front desk and parking lot security went above and beyond to ensure I had a safe and pleasant stay, incredible service!
“Quality at bargain price”
Everything was beautiful, functional, and comfortable during my three-night stay (except for a little electronic lock problem, which was solved by friendly staffers.) The bathroom featured a walk-in (not climb-in) shower with plenty of space and the toilet had two-way flushing (to save water). The ventilation system cleared the steam so I could use the mirror after a shower. The fridge and microwave allowed me to save a bit of cash. The bed was comfortable. There was an electrical outlet near the desk to plug my computer in. Breakfast was great. (You can tell that all these amenities have not always been provided at other places.) I now have a new favorite motel!
“Somewhat Satisfied”
The check in process was efficient. We asked for nearby places to eat and he gave us some suggestions and let us know they have a free shuttle service. We did not know this. It was nice not to have to worry about driving in traffic. Our room was fine for 1 night. I would stay somewhere else if in town for more than 1 night. There was a dirty, towel that was left in the wardrobe housekeeping forgot about, but everything else was satisfactory,. Breakfast in the morning was a dissapointment as they ran out of most of their items 1 hour prior to closing and weren't going to replace. Even coffee! All in all, for 1 night, I would go back.
“Nice Arts”
Well maintained and lots of interesting art (for sale) hanging all over the lobby areas. Good sense of design evident in the individual rooms. Only drawback was a rather weak wifi signal. A three minute drive from the center of the city at a rate less than half of the downtown hotels. What's not to love?
“Won't stay here again”
The two best features are the proximity of the hotel to downtown Milwaukee and that the room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel advertises free WiFi throughout the building. For the first 24 hours of our stay, we were never able to connect our iPads to the wireless network. Although we called the front desk three times and were promised it would work, it did not. The next day - as we left for our activities - we complained again. This time the desk clerk told us he would get it working. When we returned, we were able to connect to the network, but service was sketchy at best. It was impossible to process emails with the sketchiness of the connection. On our last night's stay, we were not able to park in the lot as it was full. We had to park on the street. If the most important features to you are cleanliness of the room and convenience to downtown, then the price is right for this hotel. Otherwise, it did not meet our expectations.
“Disappointing but adequate”
Location was very convenient to downtown, which is the only reason I rate this hotel as high as I do or would recommend it. Room was very small, but decently furnished. First room I was given had loud, annoying dripping sound above bathroom. Staff readily moved me, but I was in a top floor room (so this wasn't just water left on in upstairs bathroom), making me concerned about maintenance. Room (original and after move) lacked cups for drinking water or coffee. Again, staff cheerfully got me some, but it seems like something that should clearly already be in the room. The most significant concern was that internet service did not work. 2-3 (depending on room) wireless access points for the hotel were found, but none would issue an IP. Staff rebooted routers when called, but to no effect. Even with wired Ethernet, no IP was obtained. It was necessary to use cell phone for internet as hotel was simply not usable.
