Older style Charm

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Great price and location.
In town for a Carthage event. Location of Hotel close enough to campus, 15 minute trip. Hotel staff overly friendly. When arrived noticed room did not have a sofa bed, so front desk switched rooms for us. Pillow top bed was a dream after a long day. Hotel close to many eating options. I would stay again in the future.

Location: I grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, and graduated from Case high school. I would suggest that others take the opportunity to visit Wustum Art Museum.
Your hotel was very nice, and we will return. Although we purchased two drinks in the bar and had to spend $27.00 which is way too expensive.

Older Marriott that needs updating

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable except for the heat. Restaurant and lounge were nice, good food and drinks.
Cons: update decor, and heating.
Stayed four nights in very cold weather. I had to open window to regulate the heat. If I left the heater on at all, the temp in room was mid 80's or higher. Once i shut the heat off and left the window open at all times the temp was fine. I mentioned this to the front desk and was told they were working on it. I mentioned this to the lounge staff said they had heard this before from other guests. We had four of us staying there and all had same experience. On to the good. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable except for the heat. Restaurant and lounge were nice, good food and drinks.

Average hotel in need of updating. Good value but nothing very special. A/C unit was loud so just had to turn it off.

Tight spaces in Racine, WI

Posted Dec 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Did not have the room we booked so we had to put a family of five in a room with 1 bed. Said they over booked and since we didnt arrive until 8pm all the double ros with multiple beds & fold out sofa had been taken. We were clear that we were a family of 5 on our reservation. 2nd time a Marriott has done this in the past couple of months.

Needs more beds.

Posted Dec 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
In town for a high school sporting event. We booked a room with two double beds (the choices were 1 king or 2 doubles). When we checked in we were told that they had too many requests for rooms with double beds (probably because of the number of teams staying in the hotel), but that they would provide us with a roll away. It worked for us since we only had 3 people staying in our room, but I can't imagine it working for teams putting 4 kids in a room. Also it was the oldest rollaway I had ever seen and not super comfortable. The heating vent in the room was loud all night long, but on the plus side it drowned out the noise of the person tossing and turning in the rollaway bed. They do not offer a free breakfast, like most hotels do these days, but the breakfast that I paid a little bit more for at the booking, was well worth it, with an omelette and waffle chef. I only wish I had been hungry enough to take advantage of that.
