Cute Hotel!Posted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel! It's small, clean, and quaint, but the room and bathroom was very large. It's located on the second floor. You either have to park in a city ramp a couple of blocks away, or they'll park your car for you for a fee. Waukesha was a cute little town, but we enjoyed wandering around the downtown area. Check out Dady-Oh's for breakfast!

the clarke is greatPosted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a great stay at the clarke. Its a great older hotel with all updated rooms and public spaces. Love the location right in the center of Waukesha.

Large, clean, nice room.Posted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Front desk a little slow on check-in. We waited about 20-25 min as there was a small group checking in just before us and only one clerk. Our room was huge, nice, clean, with plenty of windows and seating. The bar/ restaurant were closed for remodeling, though we found several places in town with great food. Parking is blocks away.

Best HotelPosted Aug 9, 2013
We travel a lot for business and this hotel earned a permanent place in our memory as one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. Don't pass this one of a kind stay up.

Great hotel if you don't want to sleep.Posted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself is very nice. Our room was very large and clean. The Clarke Hotel website states that every room has a 6 jet tub in it but that is not correct. Our room (#209) had a large handi-cap shower. This room is also located right by the check in desk/lobby. At 2am, we heard numerous guests coming in for the night. These guests were not quiet and the front desk staff did not come out of their office to ask the guests to quiet down. The noise from Main St. is very loud until around bar time. There is also quite a bit of noise early in the morning because of delivery trucks and people out and about on the street. I also have to mention the fact that you have to park your vehicle 2-3 blocks from the hotel. You can drive your vehicle yourself to the parking garage and park for $2.00 or have the hotel valet park it for a $10.00 charge (each time you leave or return to the hotel) . It definitely was a new experience. One in which we will not be having again.

Boutique hotel in historic small townPosted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: Pleasant staff, upscale room furnishings, huge bathroom and central location to entertainment, bars, restaurants, coffee shop. Interior room was quiet
Cons: Tricky getting to hotel on Friday nights; just arrive before 5 pm. Roof-top view was just that. On site restaurant & bar closed.
Location: Bars, restaurants for every taste & wallet. Theater, historical museum, several art galleries, boutiques, antique stores, parks & nice riverwalk.
We arrived during a family-friendly Friday craft & local music street festval and hotel staff guided us by phone close enough to valet area to walk up even with both access streets closed off. From then on through our Monday departure, we were happy to not to have to use the car as we found plenty of good restaurants and bars with a quarter mile radius. There was a Saturday farmer's market along the river front and a local history museum that provided quiet entertainment to balance the numerous local shops. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, centrally located hotel for a get away to recharge, give the Clarke a visit. The sleek, upgraded bath with multi-head shower and luxurious bed to sink down into will surprise and spoil you. We have already booked our next visit.

A very comfortable and delightful .Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: Walking distance to most areas of interest and great food. Clean and a free little breakfast.
Location: I went on business which i could walk to but there is a delightful coffee shop on the corner Steaming Cup, shops and food, drink from peoples Place!!!
Check in was easy, clean room walking distance to many things. Parking is a few blocks away but worked out ok because you cannot park on the street at night. I will stay here again...

Great stayPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Staff & hotel are wonderful. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops, and history in walking distance. Too bad hotel restsurant was closed but there were plenty of options for food. Valet parking was a plus for me.

Minimal interaction with staff, no dining/barPosted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: The bed was so comfortable!
Cons: Customer Service - have some interaction with the customer
Location: Look at the architecture, arts
The room was very nice, bed was very comfortable! Shower amazing! There was very little interaction with the staff. To get into building you are "buzzed" in then directed to the 2nd floor, where you ring a bell for the attendant who then checks you in. That is the only human contact. We would come and go and not see anyone. Daily, our keys would not work and we would have to get "buzzed" in to get new ones. They would just act as if it was an unusual occurrence. Staff was not real friendly; almost acted like we were bothering them to get suggestions about local activities. We had some trouble regulating the a/c in our room, but eventually figured it out. The dining room/bar was "closed for remodeling" but there was no evidence of work being done. Looked to us like it was just closed. A note about downtown Waukesha: it is still in it's revitalization stage. We did have some trouble finding many places open early in the week. On the weekend it is booming we hear, but it was like a ghost town early on.
