Beautiful, historical hotel - downtown Milwaukee

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Great time at a beautiful hotel in the heart of Milwaukee's thriving downtown. Nicely appointed rooms. Full beds instead of queens in the double rooms.

Pros: Very quiet and secure, extremely helpful and courteous staff.
Cons: Our only disappointment was having to pay for WiFi.
Opulent historic hotel in downtown Milwaukee, conveniently located near museums, restaurants and other attractions. The Chicago Cubs were staying there at the same time, which says a lot! We would stay here again.

HIstorical Beauty

Pros: Ambiance is wonderful. The artwork is great, the marble stairs and light fixtures are so beautiful. The lobby ceiling is a masterpiece all by itself
Cons: I wish there was an alternative to the Starbucks coffee.
Location: We usually dine at the Harbor House for dinner which is about 6 minutes away. There are museums near the restaurant and the harbor is lovely.
Beautiful old hotel with lovely decor and wonderful staff. We checked in for one night in Milwaukee and we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was fairly spacious and very quiet. We had breakfast in the cafe. We don't like Starbucks coffee though and that is the only coffee available. Wish there was another option. Blueberry pancakes were delicious and bacon was crisp. Staying at the Pfister is one special treat we give ourselves every year!

Great location

We stayed here for 2 nights for Summerfest - perfect walking distance to fest plus restaurants and children's activities. Friendly staff, modern room (we were in the tower room). Wish it had a hot tub but a nice pool on 23rd floor with views of the lake.

One of America's grand, fine old hotels.

Wonderful experience. The surroundings and quality of service is something rarely seen today. We had the whole experience---Spa, Lobby Bar, and Blu on the top floor. Another strong point is that the hotel is downtown and within easy walking distance of many landmarks including the Art Museum and two of the city's finest German restaurants.
