Spend time exploring while you are in Minamikyushu. Visit the the Chiran Special Attack Peace Museum.
Visiting just one town or city, regardless of its popularity, will only ever provide you with a limited view into the wider textures and qualities of a region. So be sure to set aside enough time to explore Kagoshima 's other cities, attractions and landscapes. If you'd like to find even more places to explore, check out the Mt. Uomidake and Iwasaki Museum in the vicinity of Ibusuki, which lays roughly 14 miles (23 kilometers) to the northwest of Minamikyushu.
Organize some transport and spend half a day in Kagoshima, a regional center, situated approximately 17 miles (27 kilometers) from Minamikyushu. This regional center has a range of attractions, such as Kirishima-Yaku National Park, Kagoshima City Aquarium and Mount Sakurajima. Tsurumaru Castle, Kagoshima Botanical Garden and Kagoshima Arena are some other popular places worth investigating for those who have time left.
More often than not, a region's true spirit can be found in its culinary arts. No trip to Japan would be finished without tasting tonkotsu (stewed pork belly and ribs) and satsumaage (deep fried fish paste).
When the time comes to return to your friends at home, you'll be bidding Minamikyushu a fond Sayōnara (farewell).
