Good value nice breakfast

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Breakfast and courteous staff
Cons: Too many smoking rooms. Have pool area open
Location: Hawkins lake. Historic east Texas is great for history buffs. Morton salt mine is nearby.
Originally given a smoking room when nonsmoking was booked. Problem resolved after 1/2 hour. Pool area was closed.

nice small town hotel

This was my second stay. Staff was very small but very friendly. Nothing fancy but clean and a good free breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel for an inexpensive overnight stay.

Hidden away gem

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Through another family member that stayed there previously.
Cons: I would like what is printed in the brochure to match what is actually offered.
The breakfast was top notch. The pool was small but clean. The rooms were spacious and cozy. Our stay was great. The only thing that might need to be clarified is that the brochure states the check out time is 12 pm which is the standard time. However, the front desk will tell you that it is at 11 am. But everything else was great and I plan on staying there again in the future.

Room was disappointing

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Condition of rooms
Location: Small town - not much open after five. Hard to find a place to eat.
Room was a smoking room and was not told of this when I made reservations. Carpet was stained and dirty looking. Staff was good. Breakfast could be better - eggs were cold.

Good Hotel in Mineola, TX

Posted May 1, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Temperature
Location: Awesome Mexican restaurant very close...The Jalapeno Tree.
The staff is very nice. Rooms are clean. The only negative would be it seems the A/C changes temps during the night and got a little warm.

Needs a couple of small maintenance issues fixed in our room. Great staff and good breakfast options.
