Hotel for Dogs --- Rooms/Carpet Disgusting

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Waterslide and pool
Cons: Cleaner room and bathroom - new carpet and better bedding.
Location: Valley Fair
My kids and I loved the waterslide and pool but the rooms were disgusting. They allow pets to stay in the rooms and I could see the carpets were filthy. Very very dirty carpet and poor quality rooms, bedding, bath. Can hear dogs barking....very strange. Should be call Hotel for Dogs. Will not stay again.

Chosen for pool/waterslide

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff
The water slide was not turned on until two hours after 3:00 p.m. check-in? We had to ask to have the water slide turned on the following morning.

An economy hotel, don't pay or expect much.

Pros: The water slide is open very limited hours. The front desk staff were polite enough but not very helpful Not very clean feeling.
Cons: The location Cleanliness Staff helpfulness Services
Location: We were not near to what we needed. There is a horse race track across the street and I think Valley Fair is relatively close by but we did not go.
The hotel is currently under renovations but it appears as though they are not doing a very good job. Our room was recently renovated and the wardrobe smelled of gas, possibly the hinge lubricant and the handles kept falling off all the drawers. The room was moderately clean but I think a pet had stayed in the room and then a thorough cleaning hadn't been completed because something was causing my allergies to flare. It feels as though the hotel is in the middle of no where. There are limited stores and restaurants on this particular exit. The only thing close by is the race track, Culvers and McDonalds. You have to head back on the freeway to get to groceries or a general store. The breakfast was typical but the on staff member working it was very curt, and frazzled. Our room wasn't cleaned one day, and the front staff didn't even know about it at 7pm when we returned to the hotel after being out all day. This just added to the disorganized and poorly run feel of the hotel. They often ran out of pool towels and we would have to go to the front desk to get more. It is a good 25 min drive to MoA and the Minnesota Zoo. There was a target one exit away and we think a walmart in the opposite direction. Both stores were relatively isolated and didn't have a lot of other conviniences around the Any conviniences were a 10 min drive away. The only thing withing walking distance was Culvers (which was the view from our room) and McDonalds, Chili's up the road

The water slide was closed and that is what my kids were looking forward too. Pool was very cold and hot tub was Luke warm. Room was ok. Breakfast was free but not the best. Would not stay there again.

Sorry but had a bad experience. Bathrooms would get clogged constantly. Bathrooms not very clean. Bed covers were old and torned. The slide on the pool only opened after 5pm., bad timing. Breakfast was reheated, not cooked.

Nice Hotel close to Valley Fair

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Clean, Modern, and very welcoming.
Cons: The Breakfast area seating could be more. We had to take our breakfast to our rooms 1 morning, but the food was good, so that made up for it!!
Location: Using GPS we found a few more things near by to see (restaurants and cool builidings) Valley Fair is near by, and a Horse race park (did not visit)
We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. Close to Valley Fair and a nice drive to MOA. Would definitely stay again if given the chance!!
