Areas in need of maintenance. Carpets, hot tubs

2nd time staying. Close to venue. Hotel needs some TLC. upset we were asked to pay a cover in restaurant for entertainment.

Pros: It was close to both the casino and horse track.
Cons: New management is badly needed.
Stood in line to check in for over 45 minutes while one lady checked people in and the manager sat behind the desk and watched. Room had a wet carpet and it made everything damp in the room. No sheets on the bed. In the morning the hot tub was not on either day. I had to go to the front desk to call someone to turn them on. The second morning the heater had been off all night and the hot tubs were barely warm.

Pros: Hotel front desk staff were courteous. TV's were nice.
Cons: The rooms need thorough cleaning, disinfecting, debugging, and mold removal. Tiles in dining area and pool area need changing.
Location: Valley Fair, Canterbury Downs, Renaissance Festival
Rented 2 queen bed rooms. Arrived 30 minutes after check-in time and was told 1 room was ready, other would be an hour or so. Checked into room 1. First impression of room - Holy cow it smelled!! Musty, mildew attic smell. Go around the corner to the room itself - it was a full sized Murphy bed. Behind the murphy bed we found dirt, wrappers from something, cobwebs, dust... We had to open windows to even be able to breathe! Windows were filthy! Then we found dead bugs in the window sill. Microwave was disgusting Bedding was dirty - not stained, dirty. Bathroom had no toilet paper holder. Counter was kept together with tape. Bugs were crawling across the floor in the bathroom. The inside of the towels were clean, the parts open to air were brown. The tub had chips missing, the surround had broken tiles. The soaps were old bar soaps (Which were NOT what is used in the other rooms we found out). Finding another hotel wasn't an option, so we went to get keys for room 2 and complain. They moved us to a smoking room. No go. Moved us to a non-smoking suite. It smelled of cigarette, there was ash on the furniture and burn holes on the table, and food on the floor. Popcorn, specifically. We ended up in another suite. Dusty but OK. Room 2 had to be changed due to mold on the ceiling from the wall to at least 8 inches into the room. Allergies made us switch that one. Plus the air beds would not pump properly. The new room had candy wrappers and candy under the desk.

Pros: Location to the track and the bar/resturaunt had a great band!
Cons: cleaning! and remodel as there were some areas of concern
Location: Love Canterbury downs. Great time. Loved the Arizona bar
It was ok...it was our 25th wedding anniversary and we planned to check in right at 3:00 to enjoy a little relaxation before we went to the horse race track. We were not able to check in until 4:30. Short on staff. We we got to the room it smell of sewage and did not look like it had been cleaned real well. Sinks and tub were kind of gross..Then we asked for the free shuttle service to take us to the race track. Post time was 6:30. We were told to be down at the front by 6:10. We did that. WAITED...no shuttle. We ended up driving over ourselves when the shuttle had not arrived by 6:35.. Not impressed...

The pillow case had smeared makeup all over it...there was hair ALL over the bathroom floor...not to mention garbage under the bed. I will NEVER stay at this hotel EVER again

Close to Canterbury Park

Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: Towels and getting the rooms cleaned in a timely manner.
Location: Canterbury Downs
Got to hotel at 4:30PM to check in, room wasn't ready. (Check-in at 3PM). She said it would be another half hour. Went to Arizona's (their bar) for Happy Hour. Came back at 5:10, room still wasn't ready. She ended up giving us a suite, because she didn't want us to wait any longer. Room was comfortable, nice bed. We didn't get any washcloths and the hand towels were badly stained. Need to upgrade towels and improve housekeeping!

The air didnt work even after maintence fixed it and it was uncomfortable to sleep in. The elevator also never worked for us

First off the keys for room didn't work, Room was dirty, The locks on the door didn't work, And all night a dog was barking. Don't people or management have enough brains to tell the dog to shut up? We also spoke to a guy and gal that said there room was covered in black mold. I think that I need a refund. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP TO GET A FREE ROOM
