Don't judge the book by it's cover

Cons: Staff needs customer service Price of food
Location: MOA I will not be returning back
noisy to begin with but would be alright if the front staff knew what Customer service was I am sure they did not get a class in customer service when hired.. On more than one occasion we asked for a complimentary newspaper and was responded by "It's up there if they're gone there gone" We asked about places to eat, again no help very curt. I owned a business and I would fire all front staff including management for not paying attention to what was going on with my people customer service as a class must attend. Food very pricey don't get your money value BUT the young man was very good and customer service orientated

$th of July in St Paul

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Helpful, courteous staff, good restaurant and the facilities were clean and up to date.
Location: Mall of America, Nature Preserve, right on highway to get you where ever you wanted to go.
I had a great time this past 4th of July in St. Paul. Stayed at the Hilton at 3800 American Way in Bloomington, MN. The hotel is great, the staff were super helpful. I would recommend this hotel for a fun relaxing place to stay, close to everything.

Disappointing Room

Posted Jul 6, 2014
We have no idea why we ended up in the handicapp accessible room. We did not ask for this accommodation as we are not wheelchair handicapp. While the main room was fine; the bathroom presented an issue for us since everything was meant for wheel chair accessability including the shower. I am short person to begin with, and the shower head did not come over my head; poor water pressure so it was cold/luke warm shower the entire time. There was no counter space in the bathroom to get ready, or store items. Again being a short person using the tiolet my feet could not touch the floor due to the handicap tiolet. It did not make for a plesant stay.

Confused staff

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Got in at 12:00 midnight from our flight- people at the desk very slow- credit card machine VERY slow- per help behind desk "it's a glitch". No half and half for coffee in the morning, no forks for the salad from the gift shop- clerk rang up food wrong and over charged- I felt like I was in another country.

Pros: nice front end staff
Cons: someone should check rooms , do a walk around of front entrance after large functions (front end night manager0 Get night janitor to clean up
Location: Mall of America is a family attraction this hotel need to think about famileys more
Plane delayed arrive late. Called hotel let them know. Assured us room would be ready. Arrived late were sent to our room opened door room . this room was a mess it hadn't been cleaned from the party the night before. went back to desk and were sent to a new room. 1.a.m. In the morning we set the room alarm for what we though was 6 a.m. and asked for a wake up call. Couldn't understand why the wake up call didn't come, someone had changed the clock woke up at 5 a.m. As we left the lobby the front entrance was a pig sty Hundreds of cigarette butt's beer cans and glasses from the night before, as we waited for the shuttle a family with some small children came out and had to wait amongst the mess this is supposed to be a #1 hotel They are missing the little things. First and last impressions.

Nice hotel common areas but rough looking rooms

Posted Jun 22, 2014
The lobby was beautiful. The ice machine/ vending machine area was really a gross ruin that needed work. Our hotel room itself was decent. You could tell that the room had been very beaten up at one point and want repaired the best. The bathroom counter was beautiful with granite and the bathroom was very clean. The lady at the front desk didn't explain anything to us she just handed us or room key and said enjoy your stay. We wish we would have know that they had a breakfast in bed option. We didn't see the sign for it until we were packing to go home. Wish the hotel desk would have mentioned that.

Awesome hotel

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere and cleanliness
Location: Excellent.....very close to the airport so you had no fears about getting there early for you flight.
The Hilton hotel was the perfect place to begin our vacation. Seeing we had to fly out very early, we needed a place to stay overnight & transport to the airport. Not only did everything go smoothly, the hotel was perfect in appearance and comfort and made you feel great as you started your vacation

I would not let my dog stay here again

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Change Management. Counsel Staff. Clean the rooms. Because it is an airport hotel, I think they have few repeats.
Upon checking into the hotel, they promptly announced that there would be a $50 pet fee, and that I'd have to sign a waiver. I mentioned that there was nothing on the booking from Expedia that shows a $50 fee, and they immediately started telling me all the trouble they had with Expedia. When I asked if there was a hotel nearby that would take pets for less, they said that if I left I'd have to pay for the room anyway. Upon arriving the room, we noticed a stain on the comforter of the one bed, and informed the staff. Later, when buying a soft drink, I met the Manager, and again mentioned the comforter and the pet fee. Also, I told him that no one had asked if I was a Hilton Honors member, and he blamed Expedia for not having it in my profile. I called Hilton Customer Service, advising them of the situation, and they told me they would call the hotel and remedy the comforter and the Honors number situation. We returned to the hotel late, and nothing had been done. When we pulled back the comforter, we were horrified to see that there we human hairs on the pillow and sheets. The bedding had not been changed, and likely for some time. No one cared...no one did a thing about it. In the morning I had a half hearted apology from the Manager saying they'd change the comforter if I asked and if I came down to the desk and gave them my HH number, they'd put it in the system. When I asked if there was complimentary coffee, I was told "No, Management has done away with it".

Robert, I do sincerely apologize that your stay with us was such a disappointment. I am very surprised about your encounter with Francis as he has been with us many years and has always been very guest focused. I am embarrased that your room was not up to our normal standards and I apoligize that our staff did not rectify the situation. We are a pet friendly hotel , and we try to make sure everyone is aware of our additional cleaning fee and policies on each and every web site. I apoligize if something was not stated clearly on the website you booked.
