Decent hotel, large room, kitchenette

Location: Millions of attractions within driving range--ValleyFair, Rennaissance Fest, Casinos, etc
We got a good deal on the room (weekend rate). This facility is "tired", meaning it needs refurbishing. Workmen were replacing windows during our stay, hope the plan is to replace rotting woodwork etc...but I didn't downrate (much, at least) for condition since it looks like they're working on it. Our room was a bit noisy as it overlooked the Interstate/Expressway cloverleaf. Try to book a room facing the inner drives. Main problem with the stay was somehow between Expedia and Marriott my reservation for a King room got converted to a Queen room. My wife and I have elbow wars all night in a queen bed, so I was upset. The desk clerk said that Expedia reservations often get screwed up...not sure how true that was...and seemed rather unconcerned, but in the end he "found" a king room, so all ended well. I'd recommend this place if the rates are discounted, but at regular rate I'd shop around. And WATCH your Expedia reservation! Consider calling the hotel in advance to make sure your rez is what you think it is.

We booked through Expedia and when we tried to check in, were informed there wasn't a room available with 2 double beds, and that we were going to be "upgraded" to a king. I informed the gentleman at the front desk that we had 5 people in our party and asked if we could get a rollaway bed. He was very polite and assured us we could. He ncouraged us to get comfortable in our room and to request a rollaway from the room. We proceeded to do so, with one member taking a shower and another getting in one of the beds. When we called to request the rollaway, we were informed there were none. After a few minutes, they informed us they'd found a room with 2 double beds. If they would've just given us the room to begin with, we could've skipped the fiasco and I would've given this hotel a higher rating. It was a little run-down, but spacious, clean, and breakfast was okay, but very crowded. It was affordable, so I'm just glad we didn't pay a lot for all the trouble of the 45 min room switch.

Decent hotel for the price -- didn't like being near the entrance of the hotel, could hear people coming in and out and walking above us.

Great overall. Good housekeeping service. We need a kitchen due to wife's allergies so Residence Inn is always first choice. This property is older than some but they look like they take good care.

Pros: The convenience of the full kitchen really helped us save on our food budget during our stay in the area.

Might be hotels.com problem

We booked a room that had a fireplace. The reason we booked there. Just to get there and be put in a room without one. Went to desk and they mentioned when u book through a vendor they don't give that many details. A little disturbing, however they had a penthouse suite open and moved us there. Which had a fireplace. :)
