“Missoula”

Overall service was good, The staff was courteous, and the accommodations were good. The room was comfortable and quiet. The view of the parking lot was less than desirable and the balcony was not cleaned. The restaurant had really good food, and good service.

“The most comfortable stay in Missoula.”

The DoubleTree is always our first choice in accommodations when visiting Missoula. Our oldest daughter and her family reside there and long before she graduated from the UofM in Missoula we preferred this property. They have a great, full-service restaurant and an inviting lounge and their toast is made from Birdman bread, a sort of delicacy you can only get in Missoula. My youngest daughter, now age 15, still asks if we're staying at the DoubleTree as she likes the warm cookies at check-in.

Downtown. It's within walking distance of the hotel and there are truly some unique shops

“Will book here again.”

Was only at the hotel for one evening while visiting my daughter at the university. Loved that the hotel was literally blocks from the college and very easy to find and navigate. The room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable and had sheets that stayed tucked in. Hate when you go to get in and the sheets move. There was a restaurant on site and though slightly expensive the service was wonderful and the food tasty. The pool closed to early for me, but was able to sit in the hottub even after hours which was what I really wanted.

“great location”

The rooms were very nice and clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel had switched the heat on and a/c off so the rooms got pretty hot at night and we had to open the door. Our room was facing south which happens to have a train that runs through about 2am. Some of the hallways smelled old and musty too but overall it was a good experience.

“Loved this Hotel”

Stayed overnight to attend a concert at the Wilma Theater. Very friendly staff, nice, comfortable, clean room. Will stay there again next time we're in town and will request a river view next time. Great on site restaurant as well.

“Choose a river view”

We stayed here twice, for one night at the start of our vacation and one night at the end, with contrasting experiences. The first stay was in a river view room which was comfortable and relaxing with a great view of the river, and we slept well after flying out from Boston. For the second stay, we could only get a balcony room overlooking the carpark. It seemed very close to the rail track and the trains sounded their horns frequently and loudly during the night. We slept badly that night. Nevertheless, probably one of the better choices in Missoula and the Finn & Porter restaurant on site is one of the better dining options. Easy to walk from the hotel along the riverbank and the University grounds. Overall a good location, and the area surrounding the town is beautiful.

“Missoula Doubletree Edgewater”

A comfortable hotel adjacent to the Clark Fork River in Missoula. Corridors a bit long and institutional, but the room itself was comfortable. The bed had nice soft pillows, not the usual foam rubber hard balls. Bathroom small but serviceable. The shower could benefit by having rubber mats available for the bathtub floor. Good restaurant. Local morning newspapers available. The only negative for the room was a leak in the HVAC system.

Must see

Hike the nearby M trail up Sentinel Peak and walk the Kim Williams bicycle trail.

Shopping

Five blocks or so from the Fact and Fiction Bookstore. Kingfisher and Grizzly Hackle fly shops are nearby for those interested in fly fishing.

Outdoors or beach

The hotel is on the Clark Fork river, so it is possible to fish on site.

“R & R in Missoula”

Stayed here twice on a trip to Yellowstone from Western Washington. It's friendly, comfortable, and restorative. A peaceful river room after a long drive can't be beat. It's fun to watch the fly fishers and kids floating on inner tubes right outside your room.

Area recommendations

The area along the Clark Fork/University of Montana is pleasant and has everything the auto traveler needs.
