From Miyoshi, the well-known city of Hiroshima is 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the southwest.
Don't just limit yourself to Miyoshi; the wider region has a wealth of scenic and cultural attractions which await the savvy traveler. If you're looking for other places to check out, you'll find Higashihiroshima, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north, and Mihara 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the northwest.
Rent a vehicle and spend some time in Hiroshima, a shopping and transport center for the region, situated 35 miles (56 kilometers) away from Miyoshi. The city offers a range of points of interest, including Manga Library-Museum, Hiroshima Big Arch Stadium and Hiroshima Green Arena. If you have time to spare, check out Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, Hiroshima's Transportation Museum and Hiroshima Children's Museum and Library before returning to Miyoshi.
Learning the local language is a simple way to understand the place you are travelling so why not learn a few handy Japanese words and phrases before your trip. Knowing how to use a few basic phrases like "Isshoni odorimasenka?", which, in English means "Would you like to dance with me?", can make your trip even more special. A second interesting one is "Benjo wa doko desu ka?" (Where's the toilet?).
When it is time to depart Miyoshi, spend the last of your yen on last-minute souvenirs and bid a fond Sayōnara (farewell).
