“Unsatisfying experience”
I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a variety of reasons. The non-smoking room I asked for reeked of smoke so I had to get another room. After we unpacked in the new room, I realized the phone was not working. Despite me notifying them, we didn't have a phone the entire 4 days. Inconvenient since we were trying to meet up with relatives. One day the room was not cleaned at all. The beds were not made. No clean towels. The television worked intermittently. The front desk staff was full of Southern politeness but they just couldn' seem to get anything fixed.
“Old LaQuinta”
Very disappointed. Very old facility, spruced up inside the room. Concerned about security in the area. Breakfast was comp, but extremely basic. Certainly not up to my expectations from the chain.
“Good place for stopping by while on a long drive”
I stayed here for a night with my wife and teenaged son while on a move from Virginia to Texas. The best thing was provision of parking just next to the room, which helped a lot in shifting baggage to the room. As soon as we reached (around 11-00 PM), we were accosted by a lady who was begging for money; and this was a bit scary. We had a nice sleep, the mattresses were comfortable, but the AC was a bit noisy. We would have preferred if they had kept a microwave and fridge in the room. The breakfast was nice and service was also good. Also, it really helped to have a checkout time of noon, so it gave us more time to pack-up and leave. We got a very good deal, and would recommend this hotel to all who are passing by, and would like to take a break for a night.
“It was OK”
We were there for 8 days, well the location was great, the hotel was clean, but once we got into our room the room was clean, the shower was clean, but the water in the toliet had a bad odor to it, and the carpet was fility (needs major shampooing). We didn't walk on the carpet unless we has flip flops or socks. The breakfast was good, good varity of items, the coffee sucked (taste was blahhhhh went to starbucks to get coffee). Over all the office personal was very nice, Would I stay there again, probably NOT!!! I hope this helps you out with your decision in staying there.
“Thankful Mom!!!”
Driving from Corpus Christi, TX with my U.S. Marine son to his new duty station in Camp Lejeune, NC, we chose La Quinta in Mobile, AL to stop for the night. Having made reservations prior to getting on the road through Expedia.com, I contacted Expedia and was able to notify La Quinta that we would need a late check-in. We arrived EXHAUSTED and VERY late. Expecting us, the beautiful people at the desk greeted me by name and had us on our way to our room in less than five minutes!!! The room was very clean and comfortable. The next morning we had a lovely continental breakfast and were back on the road for the next leg of our travel. Needless to say, this "mom" was very appreciative of a safe, clean, comfortable place to lay her head. Overall, our stay at La Quinta could not have been any better. I flew home after arriving in North Carolina with my son. If my son remains stationed in N.C., I will definitely stay at La Quinta again when I travel to visit him!!!
“Most helpful and congenial staff.”
I am very thankful for the staff you employ! My granddaughter left her newly purchased stuffed animal in the room, evidently caught in bedspread. Housekeeping and reception made sure to have it sent to me ASAP to the comfort and delight of my granddaughter. Thank you everybody! La Quinta is high on my list of places to stay.
“SECTION 8”
This hotel is a very "section 8". I went to Mobile for Bay Fest and this was the only hotel that had a room in town. Like a previous reviewer said "it'll do in a pinch" but only if there's no other option. The hotel is very old. We didnt have water for a couple of hours because they had a plumbing problems. The TV was very old and had purple and green lines in it. We could connect to the Wi-FI network but couldnt get the internet on any device (iPhone, dell laptop, black berry). On a positive note, the location is great. You can walk to waffle house, denny's and old charleys. Hopefully this review will help someone to set expectations and not get dissapointed after they arrive.

“Exactly waht I needed”
Used this as an overnight stop during a two day drive. rolled in at 2AM and had my room key and off to the room by 2:05. Room was clean and everything I expected. Would stay here again.
“Will do in a pinch”
The hotel was very poorly maintained. I mentioned to the desk about several trash problems that were not attended to during our 3 day stay. The room was to have been a non-smoking room but it was very obvious that a lot of smoking had gone on in the room over time. Mobile was full of folk working on hte oil spill and my other available choices were hotels costing twice or more a night. This hotel will do in a pinch but that is about it - you get what you pay for,
