A fun stayPosted Jun 24, 2015
Fun, unique, with a little history and mystery mixed in. Ask to see the hidden door with the trap door. Then ask what's down there. Extremely interesting. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

a magical placePosted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: the staff was very friendly - the charm and history - very close to everything we wanted to do in Mobile - we could walk everywhere
Location: the hotel is right downtown in the historic district - everything is very close and walkable
The hotel has a great history - beautiful courtyard with beautiful fountain and working gas lamps with the heavy scent of jasmine in the air - if you love history and old southern charm you will love this place - I cannot wait to go back.

Enchanting ExperiencePosted Mar 28, 2015
This hotel has much to offer in the way of charm, history and elegance. It is much like staying at a B&B. Hotel has an active renovation program to maintain its ambiance.

Nice but needs some updatesPosted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: Very historic feel and look. Reminds me of the southern plantation homes
Cons: Needs Wi-Fi!!
Location: Right near government center and easy walk to great dining and bars
I stayed here due to it's location and low rates. I enjoyed my stay but really wished they had Wi-Fi. Outside of that, it is a very nice, historic hotel. In the summer I imagine it would be a wonderful place to stay with the courtyard seating and pool. If you are a traveler who typically contacts hotel staff a lot, this place might be a problem for you..almost every time I walked past the front desk, there was a sign there saying they would be back later.

Charming place to stay!Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The friendly owners and the quaint charm. It is a beautiful place.
Cons: We wished the weather would have cooperated more to spend time in the courtyard but that is certainly not the fault of the hotel or its owners.
Location: We were there for the marathon and were please to see the starting line was within sight of the property. Close to restaurants and other attractions.
I travel a lot and sometime you just get tired of the same chain hotels. It is nice to stay someplace that is almost as good as home. The owners work there and will bend over backwards to help in any way possible. They are very friendly and we found their dinner suggestions to be good.

Historic hotel walking distance to downtownPosted Jan 5, 2015
I did enjoy my stay at the Malaga. Mrs. Vonnie at the front desk was awesome. I was glad to be in walking distance of downtown Mobile so that we could ring in the new year responsibly. The only slight problem I had with anything was the chair in our room and the bed. The chair had a basketball sized stain on the cushion and the bed was like sleeping on a pillow made of rocks. I have staid in much less expensive hotels with wonderful beds and furniture that had no stains. For the price I paid I really expected more from the room itself. Overall I had a wonderful time.

Nice hotel close to the Cathedral.Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Many good memories from years past. We can always count on it. Breakfast included is a plus!
Cons: Reopen the bar!
Location: Great location for playing in Mobile or heading to the Causeway for dinner.
We have stayed there many times before. We were attending Ordination at the Cathedral. It was nice and convenient.
