Marriott of Mobile, ALPosted Jul 7, 2014
Checking in was very quick. It was 4th of July so they were very busy. Despite the full house, the front desk was very friendly and even took the time to let us know the options for viewing fireworks. The bar and restaurant ambiance was very nice. The room service menu was quite large. Always a plus. There was a huge family reunion staying at the hotel. I was traveling with my husband and our 4 month old son so I understand children but these kids were out of hand. They were running around the pool, lobby, and every exit to the hotel but I can't blame the hotel just bad timing. The pool was overtaken by the reunion but it looked decent. Small but was a deep pool. The location is right by a mall and a lot of eateries cheap to expensive. The room was nice. Beds seemed small and mattress was kind of hard. The comforter and pillows were very soft. There was a couple of trash items left under the desk on the floor...so maybe they didn't vacuum under the desk. I would stay again if I was ever in mobile again.

Good hotel; close to my conferencePosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The room decor was very nice; housekeeping was good and punctual; and staff was friendly.
Cons: Communication is key! Let us know when somehting is happening and whether or not we need to do anything!
Location: I attended a conference at the Convention Center.
The hotel was very nice and overall my experience was good. However, my room was overbooked and it was very unsettling as a woman to walk into my room and already find a man occupying the room. I was changed to another room, but the sink was severly stopped up and it took the engineer almost 30 minutes to unstop it. Also, the iron did not work and had to call down for an iron. The piece de resistance.........the fire alarm went off on Sunday, 07/06 at 6:45 am. At no time was there an announcement from the hotel to disregard, so many people were leaving their rooms or congregating in the hallways to figure what was going on. During the alarm the phones did not work and we could not contact the front desk. AFTER, the initial alarm stopped, I called the front desk and was told it was a false alarm. Then it went off 4 MORE TIMES until 8:30 am.

Spur of the moment motorcycle tripPosted Jul 7, 2014
My husband and I woke up and decided we wanted to get away for the day and night, so we drove our motorcycle to Dauphin Island for a day at the beach. I just happened to find this hotel on my mobile phone. It was a great price and in a nice area of the city. The staff were very accommodating, and our room was wonderful! It looks like it has been remodeled. We were very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

GOOD LOCATIONPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: CLEANLINESS. BEDS WERE COMFORTABLE. GREAT FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE HAS EXERCISE ROOM AND RESTAURANT. MANY MEETING ROOMS.
Cons: NEED LARGER POOL OR 2 POOLS
Location: MALL, WENDY'S, MCDONALDS, SEVERAL OTHER EATING PLACES, PLENTY OF SHOPPING NEAR-WITH-IN WALKING DISTANCE.
THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND NICE. EVERYTHING LOOKED NEW. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT. THE ONLY THING WE DID NOT LIKE WAS THE POOL WAS SMALL FOR THIS SIZE HOTEL. THERE ARE 251 ROOMS. WE WOULD NOT LET THE CHILDREN IN THE POOL BECAUSE IT STAYED SO CROWDED. GOOD LOCATION!

Convient hotel for multi area vacationPosted Jun 28, 2014
We chose to stay at this hotel because is was right in the middle of Orange beach and Biloxi. It just an hour outside of both so it make a perfect midway point for multi-vacationers like ourselves. It's easy to find right off the interstate. The hotel was reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly and courteous. It was also clean which is a big plus! I've stayed in nicer more expensive hotels that weren't as clean.

Great Hotel Close to EverythingPosted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: The concierge access is a little extra but worth it.
Cons: The pool area could be nicer in a hotel this prominent
Location: Restaurants are everywhere on the main drag (Airport Blvd), as well as downtown. The USS Alabama.
Great staff, Great service and impeccable amenities. Will be back again. Evelyn, the front desk rep, was amazing at getting me an early check-in. She was extremely nice.

Do not believe the room or property amenities!Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Pool was clean. Room service and the in-person breakfast were very yummy!
Cons: Bad attitudes of the staff, especially the front desk folks, & the broken pay-per-view both need to be fixed.
Location: Mobile is a big tourist destination anyway with great golf courses nearby.
I showed up very excited to spend time watching movies on-demand with the family. To my great disappointment, I discovered the hotel did not have pay-per-view movies anymore because of a storm that came through Mobile months earlier, which they did not feel warranted repairing (front desk's words; not mine). Initially to my delight (later, a nightmare), ASMS high school was having their senior prom at the hotel during my stay. I initially thought the students were really nice, until 3 am when the all night party next door to my room was in full swing. The next morning, I awoke exhausted only to find that my car had been both vandalized and hit overnight by another (white) vehicle (clue: tire had paint flecks on it), who left no note (thus, deemed a "No-fault hit & run by my insurance") . On top of this, the vandals keyed the right side of my bumper and the wheel well over the right tire, though much more substantially. When I asked to speak with Marriott security, the front desk staff laughed at me & said there was no one around by that "name" & continued to mock my feelings by telling me that they, unlike big city folk like myself (their words again), have no outdoor security cameras & they couldn't/wouldn't help me get any details I needed. At the time, I did not know which school prom it was that Saturday & Marriott would not tell me. This is where I laugh; ever heard of Google, or is that for big city folk only? A quick search verified it was AL School of Math & Science.
