Great location for bars and foodPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: Excellent view.
Location: Excellent Samba Clubs, Pizzerias and other food venues. The area is on the whole up-market and relatively safe.
Generally a pleasing experience at the Mercure with a decent sized apartment for an excellent rate. Bizarrely the living room featured a decent sofa but no TV whilst the bedroom DID feature a TV. The kitchen and utility area was a very, very welcome bonus. The only let downs were a lack of any plug which would accept the adaptor plug for South America (due to the very thin 'female' receptor) and that the bathroom featured one or two unwelcome curly guests who had not left with their previous occupants or been properly cleaned away by the house-keeping staff. The staff themselves were on the whole superb from arrival through to departure. Recommended at the Expedia Rate - but don't expect Nectar Points as Expedia continues to hide the box where you re-submit your registered Nectar Card number on the confirmation...

Close to the company I was visitingPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
I do not recommend this location. There was a club across the street from the hotel which meant having to deal with load music most of my stay. the windows in the room did not shut correctly causing the room to be the same temperature as outside. The restaurant in the hotel was OK. the best part for me was that it was only a brief 5 minute commute to the office I was visiting.
