“good and beside a big supermarket”

the hotel is good .it is beside a hypermarket and this was great .it is clean .it is 15 min walk from metro station.but service is bad no wifi .the breakfast is the same everyday and no changes .people at reception are not nice or helping. it was good as we were out all day .

“Good Value Hotel”

As some of the other reviews have said this is a great value hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the air conditioning was great. The hotel is located just outside Barcelona (about 25 minute train ride. There is a grocery store about 300 feet from the hotel as well. I would recommend this hotel for anybody trying to keep costs down. In Barcelona I highly recommend the Hop on Hop off bus to see some of the best attractions at a reasonable cost. I will return if I pick up another cruise from Barcelona in the future.

“Stay in Barcelona”

Hotel is about a 15 minute train ride outside of Barcelona and then you have to walk a bit to get to the hotel from the train station. No shuttles offered to train station and the nearest bus pick-up per the hotel's map was quite a trip also. Very inconvenient when traveling with small kids and grandparents. On top of that the area directly around the hotel was shady and hotel itself is gated in which definitely makes one feel the neighborhood isn't the safest. Restaurants were a good distance from the hotel as well but there was an awesome bakery close to the park that neighbors the hotel. Intentionally booked two non-smoking rooms both with one queen and a sofa bed for each room so that our children could stay in either room. Upon check-in was told that we were being given one room as booked and the other would be a single since only one adult was listed for staying in that room. Told reception that was not what I booked and paid for and that I wanted what I booked. Slight debate occurred and eventually was accommodated with a smoking room on a different floor with atrocious carpet because clerk stated that no one else was there to get another room arranged for us closer together and no offer was made to accommodate us once more staff were available. Was assured though that the carpet was clean although severely stained. Breakfast offered was decent but that's about it. If truly wanting to experience Barcelona, stay in the city.

“can't wait to go back”

It is far away from the airport, and it is not located in Barcelona. So, you need to pay additional charge to get the hotel and go back to airport. What the worse is the location, where you can see many big trucks and lodging sites with little amount of living facility. Thus, I do not recommned this hotel to everyone !

“Susan Birdsey”

For the price, this is an excellent hote. It is clean, contemporary and has everything you might need - breakfast included and internet access. You can walk to the Renfe train in may 8 minutes and then get into downtown Barcelona. We stayed here two days before a med. cruise and it was very satisfactoy. We even used the trains and the blue cruse terminal bus at the christopher columbus monument downtown (2 euros each) and it worked out great.

“OK for sightseeing (30 min away from BCN by train). NOT BUSINESS FRIENDLY.”

This was our second time at this hotel. It's 30 min away from downtown by train, but the train is not expensive and it leaves you right in Sants Station or Plaza de Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona. You won't find a hotel as comfy as this for the same price in the city. The rooms have tea and coffee facilities, but no minibar. There's a large supermarket next door. The train station is an easy stroll 7 or 8 blocks away. Breakfast is included, but there are always problems, ie. coffee machine not working, when they run out of something it takes an hour to replace. This last time we were pretty angry with te service. It was a weekend trip, but we stayed monday, and needed to have a teleconference from 2 to 3 PM. We asked if we could purchase a late checkout at 3 or 4, in order to do it, since it was very important for us,but they refused, we asked for a private space to do it, since we had already paid for 24 hrs of Internet, but they only offered the breakfast room, which is te same space as the reception. It was noisy, full of people chatting, and Internet went down, and the servers were down. We decided to leave and find some other place, since it was obvious that this hotel is not business friendly. If you're only there for the sightseeing, and don't need to go back to the hotel during the day, it's OK. If you're there for business, don't waste your time and pay a little more for a business hotel in the city. This is NOT a business friendly hotel.

“I will not go back to this hotel”

We chose this hotel because of the lower rates and the proximity to the airport. The hotel being part of an American chain did not live up to the expected standards. Despite the fact that it is fairly new, it is poorly maintained, they were stained on the carpets and furniture, the A/C didn't function properly, the design of the room makes it feel smaller then it is and the staff was not that friendly. The bathroom was pretty but the window between the bathroom and the room (a glass window) makes it unpractical for two people because the light goes through into the room.... Breakfast was just adequate (advertised as buffet) and the restaurant was stark. I do not recommend this hotel.

“Great Bargain, highly recommended!!!”

Great Hotel, location was not great, but train station was only 10 minute walk away. supermarket near hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, If you have a chance explore the town. It's a small town but quite unique,The big city of Barcelona is about 30 minutes away.

“Great for someone wanting to save money and doesn't mind the train ride”

The Holiday Inn was just as advertised. Quality hotel for the money. Breakfast was good. Walk to the train station was easy and the train ride was easy as well. The plaza is a great place to start the tourist adventure.A little far out for someone that wants the nightlife and party times, but for a family or a couple looking to save money, a great deal. There is a grocery store next door , so very convenient.
