Great Hotel with Lake side pool, food excellentPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Lake side pool -
Cons: Decor needed updating
Location: Very little to do in the village, we found a nice bar and two other restutrants within walking distance of the hotel which were all good.
Great Hotel, Lake side pool was excellent and all staff really helpful and curtious. The building was lovely and everything was very clean. Only negative is the decor in the room was a little tired, shower grouting needed redoing and shower head needed a clean. Wallpaper grubby and starting to peel.

Very good hotel.Posted Aug 10, 2014
The hotel is very nice. The staff were extremely helpful and kindly gave us an upgrade to deluxe spa room. These were recently re-furbished and were smart, tasteful, roomy and very comfortable. Only downside was really the location. There is not much to do in the area which is really just a hamlet. One day it poured down all day and we were really just stuck in the room reading. Probably best if one has a car to tour the area. The ferry terminal is close to the hotel, but not so close that it is noisy. However, it was easy to get to other villages. When the weather was good we split our time between the pool and travelling around the lake. We stayed a week which was quite enough. I would definitely recommend the hotel though.

A fabulous resort overlooking Lake Como.Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast in the garden, dining over the Lake.
Cons: Refresh the rooms, although they were very nice.
Location: Did not have time to experience the surroundings, but the hotel was enough to convince me to stay longer and to relax and enjoy a grand holiday.
The resort lived up to its Grand name. Dining overlooking Lake Como is an extraordinary experience. Breakfast is served in the main hall and enjoying it in the garden is magnificent. I cannot say enough of the experience, except to say we did not stay long enough. It is elegant, and traditional as the grand hotels anywhere. I would stay here again and again, and recommend that you give this hotel a try. Stephen

Location, Quality and Good foodPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Overall quality surpassed our expectations.
Cons: Add a ping pong table.
Location: Great access to Cernobio, right next door with banks for ATM, highly rated restaurants, etc. Stay away from Il Gatto Nero, worst service on our trip
Expected Euro ratings of 4 stars to be a 3 star only to find that the hotel is a true 4 star. Staff welcomed us, brought us to room and took the time to really make sure we felt welcome and helped with any questions. Rooms: Online, the rooms look very 'loud' vs current classy. Upgraded all last year to modern high end. Very nice. Large, two single into king style. Room for our two kids who had cots, that were decent quality since they are cots. Food: Great breakfast that is included. Drinks good, meals good while onsite. Reasonable prices on most but beer for US dollar folks, quite pricey but that is due to Euro/Dollar. Grounds: Great tennis court looks like grass, is Astro but works great. Grounds are well kept. Breakfast can be outside with lake view! Our room faced the mountain which has a nice little waterfall coming down in the view, church, small hillside town. Pool is not large but not overcrowded. Gym has 8 or so pieces of equipment. Just enough. Location: Great! Feels like we are in iTaly but is not busy. Easy access to many local restaurants. Property directly has access to lake (kids jumped in many times) Price/value is very high! Stay there.

Brand new renovated room with view!Posted Jul 11, 2014
Location: We were hesitant to be staying in the small village of Moltrasio, rather than a larger lake town, but discovered the location lovely and charming.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Imperiale and will happily return. We chose the double deluxe room with Lake View and it did not disappoint! The room was very large, brand new renovations with nice modern amenities and spotless. View of the lake over a few rooftops was magical. Excellent service too. .

Great views, tired hotelPosted Jun 16, 2014
The hotel is out dated and in need of renovation. The room amenities were very poor. Air conditioning not working, water pressure in shower a dribble. Charged 5 euros to deliver ice to room. No pool towels because it was raining. A mistaken wake up call at 6.00 am. The hotel needs better management.

Nice hotel, good location.Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly people especially Morritzio, bar man. Great location
Cons: Bedroom decor, very tired, some of the walks very marked, which made it look dirty. Process for towels at the pool, see previous comments
Location: Easy to find, boat station across the road to tour the lake. Plenty of different restaurants nearby, ideal location for touring
We travelled by motorbike, and were pleased that we could put the bike in the garage at a cost of 10 euro per night. We had to change one of our plans and ended up with 2 bookings, as the hotel was busy we expected to have to move after one night. Upon check in we were able to go to our lakeside room with no moves, which was really nice. Rooms were tired and would have benefited from a coat of paint, the main areas were fine, service in the bar and restaurant was good and very friendly. The pool did very get busy as the hotel filled up and the towels for the pool was a bit strange, having to collect a card from reception each day, exchange for a towel at the pool, exchange for a card at the end of the day at the pool, take back to reception or face a hefty charge, not great process for a 4star hotel. Having said that, we had a very enjoyable time, and hope the constructive feedback helps.
