Excellent in all respectsPosted Oct 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very well located for visiting all areas of Monaco. We walked to most areas of interest and found plenty to accommodate our three and a half day stay. The staff were very polite friendly and helpful, particularly Patrick, Jenny and the Italian gentleman. An excellent visit and excellent value for money.

Great location and staffPosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: Location, staff and the restaurant were all very good. The concierge provided excellent directions and recommendations. Shuttle to Casino.
Cons: Lighting in the bathroom was very dim. More English programming on the T.V.
Location: Very close to a marina, walking distance to the Auto Collection and the palace.
Staff was very helpful, especially the concierge. First hotel in France that we stayed at that had an ice machine. A few minor repairs were needed but overall excellent.

Tired and poorly maintainedPosted Sep 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good location for my purposes - very close to HeliPort. Great concierge other staff OK. Worn carpets and chipped paint feature heavily. Bathroom had broken granite around sink, some mildewed tiles, water damaged woodwork and filthy air vent - most of these are relatively easy/inexpensive to fix - so why haven't they done it? Lack of any budget or lack of attention? Sharpen up Mr C!

Beat down, felt like a time sharePosted Sep 13, 2013
We chose the Columbus based on price. We wanted to be close to the action of Monte Carlo and the beaches of the Riviera. This hotel was only OK. Things you should know: the pool is shared with the condo unit, so its not exclusive to guests, there is no pool side bar or service and it is FULL of people. There is no convenient place to get water or snacks nearby, we paid 10 euro for a bottle of water from the bar, and then didnt even have a bottle opener in our room to open it. This place is close to a street with good restaurants and the fancy boat marina, which is nice. Dark Home, Beef Bar, etc are right there. Stay if you dont care about the esthetic of your hotel, and want a cheaper option in this area- and its not even really cheap, just cheaper than the others.

Back to Monte CarloPosted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent views, excellent pool area.
Cons: A bit more room in fridge for own items
Location: Buses nearby into Monte Carlo itself, but we walked everywhere,
Had a wonderful stay at the Columbus. Would definitely stay again there. Room had views of the Ocean. Dining room was very nice and food excellent. A bit expensive thought. Bar area was excellent. Would have liked to have had tea/coffee making facilities in room. Concierge were extremely helpful and arranged for helicopter flight out. They were always friendly and helpful. All staff even housekeeping were polite and friendly. Made to feel welcome at all times. Pool area was wonderful really enjoyed swimming and relaxing there. Highly recommend the hotel. Location buses nearby, supermarket, and great walks and other restaurants nearby.

Hotel is located away from the main part of town but this isn't a bad thing as the neighbourhood is quiet. Buses do pass near the hotel regularly and the walk is not too far. The room was very nice and spacious. The only negative was the free shuttle service that was advertised online was not as readily available as mentioned.

Monaco and the beautiful ColumbusPosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: The concierge service, the room and you are made to feel like a VIP all the time.
Cons: Nothing, but only that the food menu could have more choice
Location: Monaco is very small so you have the exotic zoo nearby, the beach, and prince Alberts museum and even a shopping centre
The hotel is breathtaking, the pictures do not do it justice
