Central and high standard hotelPosted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel has been renovated recently and was very nice. It has a great location, but if you travel with younger children the walk to the old town is a bit long (15 min for adults). The beach just across the street is nice, but not for young children. The children preferred the beaches around the old town. Otherwise the hotel is great. We stayed at a room with mountain view and it was very nice, with sun on the balcony in the evening, There is traffic noise, but it was not a problem and if you sleep with the doors closed you cant hear the cars. On the top of the hotel there is a beautiful and big roof terrace with spledid view of the city and the beaches! And a bubblebath were the kids could have fun or the adults relax. Marvellous. I checked a lot of hotels in the aera before travelling and found Hotel Riva to be the best choice, and it certainly didnt disappoint us. Good rates as well.

Happy to recommendPosted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Position, not right in centre of town but easy flat walking to town along the front. Plenty of choices of places to eat evening meals.
Cons: Would have liked the option of hiring a beach umbrella and something to sit on.
Location: Excellent location, easy walk to old & new town centre, to Italian border or Cap Martin, on Menton/Nice Airport bus route and not far to train station
Hotel is situated on the front. Helpful staff, place always looked clean and tidy, good reception service with sufficient English spoken to deal with queries both face to face and over the phone. Rooms always clean and nice to come in to. Sea view has sunshine in the morning, mountain view has sunshine in the afternoon. Air conditioning works well and shutters/double glazed door keeps out traffic noise so quiet at night. Breakfast area pleasant to use and breakfast is a good continental buffet with hot dishes as options if required. Rooms have fridge/mini bar/free safe/plenty of hanging space & drawers, Free Jacuzzi & sun bathing area on roof area with optional spa services (not tried).

Super modern & clean!!Posted May 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything about this hotel was about attention to details!!! The decor, the colours...everything!! Very modern with taste. Was very surprised, was looking for smaller hotel (30 rooms) not the big chains and close to Monaco (15 min train) and the hotel is at walking distance to train. This hotel, on the water, was a gem. For 139 euro, we were beach front...we used the patio every night. Breakfast available from 6 euro. Plus a nice rooftop hot tub + around 20 long chairs to enjoy the sun!! We also took advantage of the spa services, got messages. Lots of places to eat along the Cote d'Azur. Would definitely stay there again.

A very pleasant hotel. Conveniently located on the promenade, near buses and OK for shops and railway station. Rooms comfortably furnished, good bathroom and lots of hot water, staff all very friendly and courteous. Buffet breakfast (continental) was very good with lots of choice served in airy light breakfast room. Computers provided free for guest use. Bar area was lacking in character and was hardly used by anyone. Only downside was the noise -- on a very busy road and the sea was even louder, crashing on the shingly / rocky beach. It was not comfortable to use the balcony or have the doors open during the day -- OK at night closed up. May be better higher up the building but we could not get a room there, even for part of our stay. The solarium on the roof was quieter, with good sunbeds and fine for relaxing. So noise is only reason I have downrated comfort and location -- if this is not a concern, Riva is a good choice.

Hotel Riva September 2012Posted Sep 28, 2012
Very helpful staff. Hotel in a great position, away from the bustle of the town but on the sea front and within very easy walking distance of the town. Would stay there again. Hotel easy to find from Auto route - straight down to sea front, turn right and you find it within 400 metres.

Excellent location and cleanPosted Aug 21, 2012
Definitely recommended. Perfect location for the beach, restaurants, shopping, bus stop and train station. Right opposite the hotel is a beach area which is fantastic if you don't want to be on a busy beach. If you do like a busy beach, it is only a few meters away.
