Hotel needs remodelibg

Posted May 18, 2015
The room smelled. We slept with the window open to air out the room. The carpet was worn and dirty. The lighting was poor and the room was dark. The mattress did not fit the frame. The frame stuck out so if you didn't watch, you would bang your shin. The orange juice came out brown in color from the dispenser. This was a memorable hotel, but memorable for all of the wrong reasons.

Clean Hotel Near My Daughter

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness Amenities Staff Proximity to my Daughter
Cons: Parking, the parking in the back is a bit of a pain. I like very soft beds
Location: Only went to my Daughters South into Illinois but Chicago is north a short ways.
A diamond in the rough! Although located in an industrial setting. Obviously primarily there for the trucking school next door and other industrial activities in the area I found this hotel exceptionally clean and well equipped for my needs. As a woman travelling alone I never once felt frightened or apprehensive about any part of my two day stay, even coming and going at night. I did the mistaken of travelling north 20 miles into Southside Chicago, but that’s an entirely different story LOL. The amenities are well cared for and clean. The staff was mature and professional. I felt as though the staff was handpicked to serve me. I will stay at this hotel again when travelling to see my Daughter.

The nicest staff I have ever encountered...

Posted Mar 16, 2015
The facility itself was pleasing enough, for sure. That said I think it is MORE important to recognize the gentle and kind qualities of the staff that greeted us and assisted us throughout our stay. Excellent customer service and genuine respect/kindness are often hard to find...particularly at hotels. This Red Roof Inn definitely HAS THAT going for it. Both the gentleman that checked us in, and the one that greeted us on our way out were noticeably nicer than we are used to. I am glad to have the opportunity to let them and their management know that it was refreshing and memorable. We will choose this hotel again...because of the staff!

Terrible

Posted Feb 17, 2015 on Hotels.com
Stayed here with my girl for Valentine's day. The guy at the front desk made me and 2 other guests wait for 25 minutes while he went back and forth with a guy on the phone who couldn't seem to understand that no jacuzzi rooms were available. The front desk guy couldn't seem to bring himself to be assertive enough to just end the conversation, so we all waited. Finally, when he grabbed the bull by the horns and put this person on hold, i had to wait for two others ahead of me to be dealt with. This was the slowest check in of my life, but it doesn't end here: when i was taking my bags into my room I noticed that one of the people that had been in line with me was going to open the door to their room as well. They opened the door to find... That the room was already occupied by someone else. The guy at the front desk had been so distracted by juccuzi guy that he had given this person keys to someone else's room. Fun! But thats unfortunately not all. The bed was very small, and the bathwater didnt even get hot. Awful. Absolutely awful waste of money.
