Dancing in the broken strobe light pod bathroom.
"Strange set up with one of every ibis sub brand on the same site. We booked into ibis normal? The red one. Reception and some of the corridors on the ground floor were modern, then you turned a corner and took a step back in time. Opening the door to the room took me back to classic ibis with the pod bathroom (we’ll get to that in a moment), no air conditioning in 35degree heat, and broken furniture (the bedside “table” was actually just a plank wedged between the bed and the wall. The pod bathroom was typical ibis but with broken strobe lights to the point where using the loo felt like a cross between a being in a nightclub and being subjected to some sort of torture sequence. We asked to change room but none other were available…so using the loo in the dark was the only option. Breakfast was good, probably the best thing about the hotel"
