Great buffets for all 3 meals and lovely restaurant on site, at the point. Make sure to book in advance as it is not open every night. Service there is excellent.
Some rooms are refurbished – ours was — and it was bright, spacious, with double sinks, decent closet, sitting area, and exceedingly comfortable king bed. It also had blackout drapes, a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, and lovely big balcony facing the pool and sea. No elevator, but on the third floor, we got at least a bit of exercise.
All the food was good, with excellent choice, and the desserts were a stand out.
For those wishing to access the au natural beach on the little island, you can only get access weather permitting. On 4 of the 5 days we were there, it was “closed“, which was a disappointment as that was a key selling feature. On the island, it is difficult to find any shade, and the lunches they prepare there are very basic. There is a swimming pool, washrooms, and swimming in the sea down a little ladder. Watch out for rocks.
The service was uneven. Some of it was excellent (loved room attendant Rochelle) however, we found the hostesses at the breakfast and lunch buffets less than welcoming. As we entered, they often offered us the first table inside the door, in a large half-empty restaurant. We would request a table deeper into the room, and on more than one occasion the response was annoyance and a chippy attitude — for no apparent reason.
On balance, we probably would not return.
