“Will Definitely Go Back to Coyaba”
Coyaba is a quaint very private resort in Montego Bay Jamaica. The property and grounds are very well kept and the staff is very attentive, especially Richard the bellman. This is the perfect retreat for people who want to rest and relax without crowds. The food is very good and I found the All Inclusive plan very convenient. All the staff were very friendly except for the resident manager, Francois, who made it a point to speak to and check in with all guests except me. I'm not sure why he snubbed me, but his lack of warmth won't dissuade me from returning to Coyaba when I visit Jamaica again. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and well-decorated. The views are wonderful. Coyaba is a great find. I'll be back.
“Impressed: Coyaba Beach Resort & Club”
We have stayed in this area of Montego Bay four (4) times in the Rose Hall area. We were looking for the true warmth of the Jamaican people and Coyaba delivered. We wanted a laid back experience where we could rest, read and eat well. We wanted “no worries mon”.The beach is behind a breaker so we were able to just sit in the sea water and relax, the staff raked and cleaned the beach twice a day, yet; Andrew; the hotel watersport employee, was attentive and knew exactly when to offer service. The wait staff rotated through all three (3) restaurants/bars, they not only knew you by name, it only took them about a day to learn you well enough they showed up just as your drink was empty. There was only one (1) step down from our porch to the hot tub, pool and a wonderful hammock. We each got to sink into our books and escape. There was another two (2) steps down to the beach and Andrew had loungers under the thatch umbrellas set up each day for us. We knew exactly where we wanted to eat and the concierge was able to get us exactly the reservations we wanted. She also made excellent recommendations. The West Indies/Jamaican food at the hotel was authentic and excellent. The Chef is a Certified Caribbean Chef. If you don’t like or can’t tolerate heat in your food, you won’t like authentic Jamaican. The owner, the onsite manager and each employee seemed to want to make this the best stay we have ever had in Mo Bay. They succeeded very well.
“Loved Coyaba”
We travel to Jamaica often and this was so enjoyable. The hotel was small and everyone knew our names after the 1st day. The pier out on the water was wonderful for watching sunsets, lounging with my husband and for fishing. The manager Francois was always present and so attentive. Food was excellent.....actual Jamaican food not the substandard buffet at so many all inclusives. We would def book here again.
“beautifu”
Wonderfu Hotel with very comfortable rooms and awsome staff. Would highly recommend
“See you next year!”
Loved the staff. Francios (resident mgr) was great and a pleasure to speak with. Made himself available everyday for short chats...very personable. The resort & it's grounds were impeccably clean. Small renovations/improvements are going on, but never interupted our stay. Tennis court needs resurfacing and sign posted stated it was in progress. Food was good at the resort, but a bit high in price we thought. We can't compare to the other resorts as this was our first time in Jamaica, but are being told by frequent travelers to Jamaica it's the same across the board. If you are looking to relax at a small, quaint, well maintained resort, with tropical scenery with a beautiful beach setting, as a couple or adult group Coyaba is it! Very convenient to airport and downtown Mobay too!
“Satisfied, but not impressed”
While the overall hotel staff at Coyaba was very friendly, the front desk did not always have the right information; the first night I was given incorrect information about the type of menu being served at "Docks" and on another evening I was misinformed three times about where dinner was being served. The rooms are nice, but the bathroom in my room was badly in need of a renovation. The grounds are OK, but nothing lush about them. Very small beach, but it was very windy on each of the days that I was there. Pool area is OK, but no bar or food service is available. My personal mistake was taking the all inclusive plan as it would have been a somewhat less expensive 3 days/4 nights while still eating at the hotel had I paid for food and beverage that I actually consumed. All in all, it was all easy and relaxing, but definitely not impressive
“Can't Wait To Go Back”
Coyaba is just the spot for persons seeking a relaxing, quiet setting. Guests at Coyaba will receive detail attention to their every request. What makes this hotel standout from others in its category is the staff.
“I'd return in a minute!”
I went to Jamaica for the first time for my Daughters "Destination Wedding". It was at another resort in Negril & I decided to stay in Mobay a couple extra days.My stay at the Coyaba was everything I expected & more. The staff greeted me with a Rum Punch & carried my bags up to the 3rd floor. If you have no problems with stairs I would recommend it. The view from my oceanside balcony was Spectacular & I left the french doors open whenever I was in my room. Fri night @ the Polo Grounds lounge was free hordevourves & a 3 piece Jazz Ensemble. After a cocktail & a snack I went to the Dining room which was lovely. I sat by a window which was opened for me (Beautiful breezy night) & ordered a most delicious salad w/ a Breast of Jerk Duck & a yummy perfect Vinagrette. The next day the weather got what I would call balmy. Strong winds & overcast but still warm.(from tropical storm Tomas) So no water sports but after 5 days drinking by the pool bar w/ young people & running around I was ready to relax. So a walk on the beach & stroll around the lovely grounds then sitting by the pool fit thebill. Lunch in Docks Restaurant was prob one of the best meals I've had. The Whole Fish w/ rice & fresh local vegetables (watch the bones) Shame on you for not eating the Jamaican food! My compliments to the Chef! Sat night they had a Native Night w/ a Steel Band & local craft vendors. Again wonderful food! The waitstaff & bartenders are Awesome! 2 thumbs up!
“My stay at Coyaba was one of the best experiences I've ever had staying in Jamaica.”
Coyaba proved to be the best lodgings I've so far experience in Jamaica. The property is clean and well kept, offering a chance to interact with both flora and fauna. My family and I was delighted by the birds and marine life we encounted during our stay. We can't wait to return for a longer stay.
“"Loved it!"”
Coyaba was very relaxing. The service was excellent as well as the food. My favorite parts of the resort were the pool, jacuzzi and the gym. This is a great place for couples I did not see any children. It is about 15- 20 minutes from Margaritaville and the shopping area.
