“Natasha NY”
Spent a week there. Beds was very uncomfortable. The room my kids stayed in the pillows seems dirty. My kids extension was not working. We were on different floors so we had to keep going up and down their room. I felt like I was in a motel. The room next to me, I could of hear them have sex. Even the zipper on their luggage when opened. Each time we needed an iron to use, we had to call for one. Not even a bible in the draw. I can go on and on.
“nice local hotel”
great location on hip strip however hot tub hasnt worked in long long time nor second pool ac did not cool living room, room & kitchen poorly stocked with linens and utensils.
“Spartan rooms. Bring bathroom amenities”
This place is a bit run down and offered few services. I would have rated it lower had the staff not tried so hard to be helpful. Restaurant not open for dinner. A/C noisy and not too effective
“would stay there again”
Was centrally located to airport, shops, awesome beach right across the street. had bfast at hotel- was good and affordable. Rooms are a little on the dated side, but it was more Jamaican experience rather than an American experience in Jamaica Find the local who operates glass bottom boats off of doctors cove beach and take a ride/ snorkel experience with him. he is fantastic and retrieved conch shell for us from bottom, took us to beautiful site without other tourists around. He charged us $60 for 5 people and spent 1.5hours with us. what a deal. We aren't your resort family so loved the more personal experience of the locals...including the groovy grouper for dinner (across from hotel). We even asked if they could set a table right on the sand for our dinner....and they did! Complete with tiki torches and table clothes- so beautiful and fun. Of course we gave them a tip for that service! in general service all over is slower...but it's Jamaica....no problem man. we busy americans are on vacation, enjoy the change of pace and roll with it!
“Great location-Friendly staff-Great Jamaican atmosphere”
Great location ,right on the hip strip.Friendly staff and good service in the restaurant, bar , and maid service. Had problem with T.V. reception which they could not fix, but they gave us a free upgrade in a suite with good T.V. reception, which was very considerate of them. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay on a return visit!
“Hope to go back next year.”
After initial glitches, we settled in to a very nice stay. Kudos to the bartender/waiter Orville for making our stay a pleasant one. He's a shining star at that hotel and hope he gets the recognition deserved. He turned us into returning guests.
“A pleasant hotel in Montego Bay”
The hotel is conveniently located to the airport and to the beach (though there is a pricey charge for use of the beach). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel and room are clean. The restaurant was only serving breakfast during the period of our stay, and the air conditioning left clothing damp. Good, mid-priced restaurants are nearby. Good value for the price.
“Decent Stay”
I stayed at Dr. Caves Beach Hotel for 10 days and given that I was staying there for such a long period of time I was disappointed that I was placed in one of the older rooms that had not been renovated. There was an old noisey air conditioner that bearly worked, but the room was clean and decent. During my stay there were also problems with me receiving phone calls to my room. I was informed that calls to the hotel go to an operator before they go to the hotel. But the operator kept telling the person calling that there was no one under my name staying at the hotel. I ended up using my cellphone to receive calls which was very expensive. Security at the hotel was great. Ice machine was broken during my stay but a hotel staff member was nice enough to get me ice from the hotel bar. And internet at the hotel was TOO expensive. If my memory serves me correctly it was $5 USD for 15 minutes
“Great Little Hotel in Montego Bay”
What a great Hotel. I've traveled to Jamaica 3 times and this was my first stay at Doctor's Cave Beach hotel. For the price, you couldn't ask for more. The hotel has a lot to offer including pool, spa, workout room, and game room. Our room had a small patio that was surrounded by lush vegetation. Don't pay any attention to the bad reviews for this hotel. It's got a great location and a great staff. Great food (although all we had was breakfast each day since we spent the rest of the day exploring the island) and great rum punch (just one of two after a long day in "deep country"). I would stay here again with a doubt. They also offer free rum punch parties on Tuesday!!!
“Great Place to stay!”
It was awesome! Everyone was really nice and helpful. I would recommend this hotel. They are right on the Hip Strip where the bars are and in a great location. Even though its not a resort, we still have a great time.
